When you spend 5+ minutes creating a secure password for your new bank account and you get a message saying the password must be between 6 and 12 characters long.

Not sure I want to open this account any more.

Fuck me.

My bank secure password criteria is:
    - Max 5 characters
    - All lowercase
    - Contain at least 2 numbers

I closed my online banking account.

Jesus, every fucking bank in my country has online banking passwords containing only numbers. The only thing that changes between them is that one is 8, other 6 or another 4 numbers.
    Every. Single. One.

What am I supposed to do?

@wesaka You can't do anything, it just too late. Better luck in next life.

@error503 A new bank showed up in here, the motto of it is that it's like a "smart" bank, all digital, you can do it all from your smartphone, transactions, investments, loans, all that stuff, and guess what: 6. Fucking. Numeric. Digits.

Why is that? I guarantee that they have the money to get some little extra SQL space.

@wesaka generally these digital 'phone banks' are tied to a device. So they would not only need the 6 digits but also your phone.

@wesaka Fuck man, that's so stupid and insecure.

I am guessing they have bought a system developed centuries ago that doesn't support anything better.
The legacy code in banking is unbelievable.
