I’m not sure how I feel about it

    I feel like it's intentionally lumping together terrible things like misandria and pedophilia with totally legit stuff like feminism and being gay, in an attempt to delegitimize concepts that the creator does not agree with, such as women having equal rights or "god forbid", being attracted to other women.

    *sigh* what was once about equal rights is now about forcing integration of others into acceptance.

    I can't find better words for it....

    Respect should be bidirectional.

    @IntrusionCM once a certain sides starts giving it instead of saying their marriages are invalid then we’ll talk 🙄

    @domfoo Likewise.

    And if it is real, well. My first thought when I read “depressed” was “I can see why.”

    Whoever identify herself with all of that should go see a psychiatrist.

    @ScribeOfGoD

    "sides" Yes. Not everyone agrees with everything.

    But there is a difference between demonstration for equal rights, which I absolutely support, and forcing inclusion onto others.

    E.g. turning your cubicle into a """""pride""""" altar and starting every conversation with "I'm XY, you must ....".

    That's undoing centuries of hard work of people who sacrificed their lives to get to the status quo.

    Respect means coexistence. Not everyone agrees - which is fine, as long as they can tolerate each other.

    Respect means that everyone can have their opinion.

    There is no need to provoke, use violence or force others to know your sexuality.

    Why are there allowed to be gay pride parades but the second there's even a thought of a straight pride parade everybody starts screaming at them. Why can't I be proud for being a straight, white male? "#killallmen" Apparently, because I'm a white male I'm a horrible person. That's literally the definition of racist and sexist.

    @NickyBones Hyperbole and stereotypes because funny
  • 3
    @NickyBones about “lumping terrible things together with legit stuff”, unfortunately, you are right. I just feel so pressurized by all this “I am X, therefore you should” culture, while also feeling hypocritical because of my pronouns' change, I just can't help it. It's too much for me to handle. Hence, this meme.

    @connormon because you’re allowed to be a straight white male all day, everyday, for as long as you want… gay people got the right to marry this decade, and are still trying to find ways to make them null and void them. You’re not the same. Your pride day is everyday lmfao but good try

    @12bitfloat Straight white males don't really enjoy it when you hyperbole them to "colonizers, rapists, chauvinists, slave-masters, serial cheaters with obsession to significantly underage girls", right?

    I just don't see how this is funny.
  • 2
    @kiki I think this "lumping" happens more often with strangers on the internet that are fast to assume they know everything about you. I get this less in real life. It's important to interact with people that see you as a complex and unique human being :)

    @NickyBones I don't think you understand how humor works
  • 3
    @12bitfloat I don't think you realize that humor is subjective. The exact same meme could have been made with the stereotypes I previously mentioned. Maybe add some MAGA and Moral Majority tags?

    It would suck just as much as the current meme.

    I assure you, you'll see a lot of guys commenting about "PC culture" and "oppression" and not finding it funny at all.
