i like it being called rust tbh.
it's not some shiny framework, that gets replaced in half a years time, but will power a system for a long time. -
@zlice But "Rust lang" doesn't have any naming conflicts. Not like it's called microwave oven or whatever
-
@webketje Or C, Perl, Carbon, Basic, B, Bash, Batch, Crystal, Dart and a bunch of others
Naming things is hard -
@zlice If you ask me, it could be helped by tagging, that is if it's used. Plus "rust" doesn't appear much as a literal word in comments now that Rust language is a thing :) What I agree about is that search features in issue trackers are oblivious.

Earu5632yClose to metal, handling things decade old languages have been handling until now… The name seems right to me

@12bitfloat not if the documentation is good.
And honestly, i'm having a good time by looking into docs.rs for rust -
@Linux that would have been a name ! It's one of those things that sounds impressive even though it's meaning is the opposite.. sigh
-
@webketje why did they name it after something that chokes and eats mice and pigs and anything else it can swallow anyway ?
-
@kiki tori's happy interpretation doesn't hold
People have been doing their whacked out retard shit way too long they're breaking the rules
Couldn't they have named rust better ?
