jamiek945317yYou mean the anniversary update? Then its not gone. The partition just doesn't show up. Rollback the Windows update and your partition will show up again. Same thing happened to me. Look it up , you will see a bunch of people with the same mysterious issue.

Windows update don't delete my Arch (Or I just lucky xD)(Anyway, this sound scary so I might clean install my laptop with Arch only)

Even if the partition seems gone, it's probably still there, just not in the partition table. You can usually recover it with testdisk (from live iso).
(unless windows spent the 2h "applying updates" screen zeroing out your drive) -
eggory4367yI tried reinstalling the grub but it still only boots directly to windows (even when I specify Ubuntu) however I was able to boot into a live cd and copy off everything important. I thought it was gone initially because disk management was showing the partition as unallocated

tahnik389897yTo all the MS haters, Go F Yourself. You lack the basic knowledge of an OS (as a dev).

Windows deleted the Ubuntu partition but not arch... I see what they did there...

@CSaratakij it's like... We don't whant you to use Linux, Windows 10 is the best OS in the galaxy...
(joking, Microsoft supports Linux) -
@Kongen as a fellow Linux user, I ask you to not post things like this. It's not going to convince anyone to switch and it makes the Linux community look like a bunch of assholes to outsiders.

Celes6907yHopefully window wont format partition that it doesn't know about xp go dl systemrescuecd and check your boot, but if you got an efi system it should simply be your efibootmgr window position which had been swapped with your grub.
-
In most modern laptops and pcs you need to disable the safeboot to not boot directly into windows but go to grub. It happened to me that windows updates and bios updates re-enabled it (going into bios to change that fixed everything and grub was already fine afterwards).
I never ever experienced windows updates to act in any way over partitions not containing windows OS files.
