That moment you start maintaining one public repo then start tracing issues to dependencies that also appear barely maintained or archived and realize how the life of many of these useful projects is barely hanging by a thread and relying on the goodwill of a single person.
Examples of such widely used packages in the NPM ecosystem that are in dire need of extra, active maintainers: debug, highlight.js, nunjucks, auto-changelog, imagemin. -
