Literally your own fault. Get a velcro strap and bind the fucking cable to length then.
Also fuck wireless headphones.
Why?
Latency is shit
Needs recharging all the time.
Needs battery replacement given enough time.
Gets lost more easily (especially these wireless earbuds).
Whatever device is using it can fuck up the stream with random incompatibilities of the bt protocols, and will sound shit.
firmware updates will make it just not work at all (can be on sender and receiver side, had that with bt speakers all the time)
only plus i can see is noise cancelling is usually implemented on bt headphones, because they have more sophisticated electronics in there, but i don't give a fuck about that. -
I have wireless headphones, and am pretty happy with them because they allow me to go cook during meetings or whatever.
When sitting I still use them wired. -
Hazarth94842yI dual-boot my headphones.
Wired for laptop while not moving much. They may get stuck sometimes, but it's a minor inconvenience in exchange for perfect latency and not being left in a ditch when the battery is dead in the wireless ones
And I use wireless for stuff like traveling, leisure, while cooking and so on...
Unless I can blast music from normal speakers, in which case I do that instead -
fuck wireless headphones. the quality sucks, the latency sucks, and there's connection drops all the time.
and devices without headphone jacks are garbage. -
I'd say a proper tool for proper job. I find wireless headphones very appropriate while doing various activities, but I find wired ones more applicable when I sit.
-
@Nanos I joined myself some metres to the cable of my headphones. So now I don't need the wireless ones because the range is similar for both XD
-
iiii90852yBoth are okay for the task. And if you can't manage the cable well it's your fault, not the device's.
-
@cafecortado my PC isn't in the same room as my peripherals, so i need long cables. However, building audio cables is actually not annoying at all, order 3 or 4 wired cables, with whatever connectors you need, and solder them together. The headphones themselves have this spiral cable, so it's always the perfect length for me.
Since headphones are low power devices and you keep the gauge of the wires in the correct range, you won't notice a difference, even with studio headphones.
I have a bluetooth adapter in my car and in the living room. The one in the living room exists purely for people, who complain, that they can't listen to music. and the one in the car, because there is no bloody audio jack for connecting it to the phone. The audio quality of this adapter is bad. -
neriald14472yAre we talking about bt or wireless? I’m using arctis 9 and couldn’t be happier with them. Bt ones on the other hand, I prefer only earbuds to use with phone.
I generally prefer wireless but I hate latency as much as anyone hence using wireless headphones with dongle and latency is negligible(at least for me). However keyboard and mouse latencies are unacceptable therefore I use wired ones. -
@ruicraveiro i do believe people in whatever the fuck you consider second/third world countries also own devices with which they can listen to music (be it with or without bt).
So... no, not really. -
qwwerty11442y@thebiochemic + fuck Bose for their Bluetooth sound profile. When plugged over cable it plays 1:1 what it gets. When connected over Bluetooth they apply their overbassed shit audio profile to get that "Bose-sound" and there is no way to turn it off.
-
qwwerty11442yad. batteries - I had a requirement, that my BT headphones must have 3.5mm jack as a backup. Ofc I forgot to turn them off after unpacking and testing and then went outside without a battery the first instance I wanted to use them.
Oh, how happy I was they have backup wired connectivity. -
hjk10156962yWireless headphones can be slightly more convenient in some situations. Moving around in a meeting, running that sort of thing. The snagging thing is mostly a habit thing but can happen and even hurt a bit with in ears.
Most of the time wireless headphones are more of a hassle. Either they are quite hefty or need frequent charging. Using with multiple devices is super annoying.
Audio quality seriously sucks when you need bidirectional coms. Audio quality is sub par in general but I don't think most people care. I have very high end IEM's and they don't make em wireless for a reason.
Not all my devices have Bluetooth either, most notably my gaming PC. Unfortunately the fuckers keep removing it from more and more phones with the Apple airpot hype.

Fuck wired headphones.
The cord gets caught in the chair when standing up, the cord gets twisted so you can't hear anything, not all devices have headphone jack anymore.
Yes I do use bluetooth headphones, but was given a trial of a wired headphones.
