Ok. Beside the mini course I want to teach on devRant that I mentioned the other day called, "Listening without Really Listening" I have another mini course called, "How to Easily Get out of Time Sapping Social Situations". In case you are still stuck in the movie here is an emergency freebie I have perfected over time. Never fails...

1) Hurriedly reach for your cell phone.
2) Make believe you got a call. Really sell it. Start talking into the phone even though you are talking to yourself as you walk out of the room.
2a) if necessary hesitate 2.5 seconds and then make believe the caller said something causing you to say, 'oh sh!t'. Say it like you mean it. But not too strong or they may worry and follow you out of the room.
3) go directly to your desk and enjoy coding.
* if someone does follow you out do not panic. Most likely you have given them a chance to escape. They will thank you.

** this also works in the hall or street if some talking machine is coming toward you.
