The last and final company who was supposed to hire me, after good HR interview and a great positive technical interview, they havent replied to me for 11 days.

I emailed them and said its been 11 days since technical interview and i havent gotten any feedback, what are the next steps.

That was on monday last week, 8th May.

They replied back saying "the technical interview went generally very positive, the interviews have been prolonged more than we expected so we have this whole week of interviews and we'll reply to you no more than on May 15th on what the results are".

It's May 16th today. I still haven't heard SHIT from them.

I am so FUCKING pissed off at all of this bullshit reckless companies not giving a FUCK and being so disrespectful

FUCK. YOU.

Well, if they can afford to make you wait, it is some form of an answer. Querying them about the result will only signal your desperation and won’t increase your hiring chance. I learned this the hard way.

@aviophile i wont email them anymore. Once was enough. And it was too much to begin with. But how the FUCJK am i supposed to know what did I do wrong IF I ANSWERED ALL INTERVIEW QUESTIONS RIGHT? I gave them everything they want and i still got rejected. FOR FUCKING WHAT? WHY???

WHY TELL ME THE TECHNICAL INTERVIEW WENT VERY POSITIVE AND THEN GHOST ME?

    FUCK YOU

    Yes. Fuck em.

Here is how it usualy goes down:
Company has one, or two positions open. HR forces the team lead to interview at least 5-6 people to the open positions. This means 10-12 hours interview sessions for the TL, and, 6 hours for the HR sessions. At minimum. But TL is busy - has meetings + actual work. So it takes time. If the process has more sessions... after that they decide who to get from those who passed.

You are probably on the short list to continue. But not the top of it.

heres my recent example: Friend gave company my CV. The HR called less then an hour after getting my CV. One Day later: short call with the Team Lead. Then two Days later Face to Face at thier office. It was HR session followed by a combined CTO and Team Lead session. Done with good vibes. Total time 3 days.
They gave me the "rejected" answer after 2 weeks of silence.

I made it to the short list. But they prefered someone else, so they gave him an offer, and he signed the contract.

@magicMirror that is some BULLSHIT WTF BRO. They should be legally required to PAY for wasting my fucking time for days and weeks on going back doing 1000s of interviews

BUT WHY SAY EVERYTHING WENT GOOD AND THEN JUST GHOST THE CANDIDATE?

Also what does being on short list mean?

    @b2plane
It means that if the top of the list does not sign the contract, then you will get the offer.

And yes - Interviews are a time waster. Last time I was at that side of the table, I interviewed at 8 companies, and got an offer from two. Total time from my side was 20 hours or so. But 20% increase 😁.

@magicMirror so im their plan B? 😹😹😹 Fuck outta here all of those companies can suck me off

    Nobody owes you the job.

You need to keep doing the 1000 job applications thing

@b2plane Yes. Otherwise, you get the "rejected" very fast - one or two days. It is a good thing to make it to the short list. There is always someone better. So don't give up.

@cafecortado Exactly. Just move on to the next interview/company, and don't wait for the response at all. In case they contact with "We decided to extend you the offer!" - you can respond with: "Ehm... Sorry, but I already got a better offer".
To continue my 2 company offers - I got the first, and it was good. So When the HR from the second place called, And I told her "Sorry, no" they went nuts - it was probably FOMO. Total ego trip 😅 for me.

Don't put all of yours eggs in the same basket... Move on

Some places call back months later. It is sometimes the nature of the company and their hiring process. You got back with them so now it is on them. Move on for now.

@b2plane they lie to you to keep you on the waiting list until they find “better” candidate.
They are scumbags as usual, leave them a public review in career sites.

I was quite positively surprised when I sent my resume to this British gamedev company without any hope of them ever replying and they actually did, very politely telling me I wasn't what they needed, but still, better than basically ghosting you

@b2plane you had a lot going on lately, especially with your father. If I may suggest, take some time off, spend some quality time with your father and family. Rest for a while. Once well retsey, pick up the 1000 application thing again.
