Just shouted to my boss: "You have a degree in CopyPaste issued by the University of Clipboard"
He's trying to edit some HTML tables and got lost... he also has this notion that he can do our job...
Music Production (packed with hardware devices like Samplers, synths mixing desk, etc), Hamradio (Radios, antennas, morse code, etc)... :/1
Both my actual and previous boss. Egocentric, narcisitic, unfit for their roles, detached from reality, intransigents, etc.
Can't really understand how guys like these become CTO or CTO wannabes when others are more qualified... Whatever... They are smart on taking care of "their" life. <insert shrug here>3
The term 'continuous rot' just came to mind as something like this: A lone/sole developer is hired to implement a solution but dispite the illusional good intent shared by everyone at the beginning, time constrains will soon come into play and the code deteriorates at a rapid pace until the developer can't handle it anymore... But someone else comes to continue the work... And the rot continues... And once again... And again...again....
A couple of years ago (2015)...
Me: If i'm going to develop iOS Apps i need a Mac, big screen, etc...
A few days go by...
Boss: Ok, we've ordered a Mac already
Boss: It's that small one, will be ok...
Me: <Check mac models and wonder the implications of "small">
Boss: It's the cheapest one plus a 21 inch monitor. Keyboard and Mouse you already have...
Me: <incredulous> At least order a mac keyboard...
Time goes by... Boss comes to discuss something about the app... i change something and check on the emulator (yes no real devices...) and boss complains:
Boss: Incredible, this machine is so slow...
Me: <throws a shrug>
Conclusion... still developing on this machine... damn.. i can read a newspaper every now and then while waiting for the machine to comply...
Too big to write it here... "Impossible" word thrown a few times... best illustrated by this video:
All week working with sun outside and when you're supposed to enjoy the weekend the weather gods don't let you :/5
Geee... i really don't get stack overflows down vote rage. Just answered to a simple question with a perfectly sane and correct answer. Before i could re-read my answer i already had 3 down votes. Some girl also answered but wrongly and no down votes. Damn, this is getting insane...16
Arrived at office then almost immediately the boss, who's also a developer, tells me he changed something on the protocol/api.
Me thinking: u just broke the api without thinking on consequences but hey... Ur the boss...
Later, he says: look, our app crashes!
:/ what the f**k was he thinking... :/9
