As a firm supporter of information security, it really "irks" me to see people get up and walk away form their desks without locking their machines... Anyone else with me on this?!

    should probably flip their screen

@jsemander I used to do this daily... Until I was reprimanded by new management

Lock your boss out of his computer with the password "my security needs improvement"

Same here, looks like 30% of the people don't lock their screen.

I'm always tempted to do some evil stuff to such defenseless machines, but at the end I'm to kind to do so.

And if you talk about it to someone, most people just don't care.

@ddephor I hear you on that. Most people don't think it's a big deal which is so frustrating to me

How about sending their own resignation email while they're away ??
Or at least change their screensaver to an embarrassing one (silicon valley season 4 episode 9)

@tigie11 reminds me of what we would do to Nick

Ay the previous company there was a rule that, if you found anyone's computer unlocked, eve' the boss'es, you would write a mail to everyone stating 'cakes for everyone' oe pizza or anything edible... That person had to buy that for everyone inside the company the next day. No exceptions.

Now i implement this by various techniques like autolocking after an amount of time inactive or when i remove myself from the computer and carry my phone. Bluetooth autolock doesnt work always cause the range is sometimes ridiculous large. But it works.

@NeatNerdPrime We had a similar tradition - you'd email the team a picture of a goat. We called it "goating".

@Wack That's nice, and not harmful, thanks for the link.
I think I will use the Windows10 Update version for machines not using W10 already 🙃

@TheBishSlap I probably will get sacked for doing that if I leave the office

@NeatNerdPrime I really like that idea, I'll do that on the next occasion.

For these cases, always be prepated to change the background (as if possible all icons in the desktop) to David Hasselhoff. The more chesthair and less clothes the better.
They will learn to lock the pc or love the chesthair... :)
