Until the old Dev left this team, I never had to handle any of the website end of things. Now he's gone, I've had to look through his code, and Jesus Christ I didn't know you could be hired to do things without knowing what functions are. It's just long strings of PHP includes.

    Yes.
    It's often called "legacy" code :p

    At least it doesn't sound like it's all copy paste.

    Better pray it isn't too hard riddled with 3rd party libraries that's slightly modified, so you can't even update them without breaking shit -_-

    @lotd I've never really had to deal with working in teams before, so I've no idea when the line between "this was made a lil while ago" and "legacy" is >.>

    @Kaylum well, some still write legacy code..
    By legacy I mean using deprecated language functions and making a total mess.

    - eg. Every page is a file. No router or anything.

    Something that'll without a doubt need to be rewritten once the site starts growing.
