This is no dev related, that's #GoT related but I think it could do a good job as a rant. Don't worry no spoiler here, but maybe something worse if you are a deep fan of the show.

Okay so last year after watching the whole season 6 of GoT I said to a friend : "Meh, looks like GoT has really become a giant succession of teasers, if you summarize all dialogs scene by scene all that you have is just a ton of fucking teasers." Couple of weeks afer that, he said that my point was so right, and that for him it was the final argument and he will never watch S7.

Here we are in 2017, S7 has began, and after 3 episodes I can say that I feel like him : since I had that thought I can't watch GoT the same way anymore.

Think about this if you watch it : does every scene isn't just basically only suspense until the next ?

"OMG King Joffrey is a terrible human being, how will he rule the Kingdom ? => You will not know until the next time you see Joffrey.

"OMG John Snow is dead but maybe not we don't know !" => You will never know until next season

"OMG Arya just met a very strange man, what will he do to her ?" => You will never know until next episode with Arya and that could be in 4 ou 5 episodes

"OMG King Whatsisnameagain and Sir Whothefuckever have made an alliance ! But they seem to don't trust each other, how will things turn ?" => You will never know until we see those fellas again.

"OMG Daenerys has lost authority with her dragons, how will she deal with that ?" => You will never know until... oh fuck, maybe you just will never know, nobody gives a shit anyway.

I mean... fuck ! The whole show is just like that, every fucking scene is just like that. To avoid spoilers I chosed to not use examples from the last 3 episodes but come on, it's exactly that. I can't remember any tv show that was pushing this so hard than GoT does. At this point I think that is just impoverishing the content, and it explains why so many people I know have stopped watching.

Don't you guys agree ? :s

Do you code? If yes, then have my ++. Else, STOP.

@Faraaz Of course I code... I saw a few complains about no-dev-related-content on here in the last few days, and I don't really know what to think about that. I'm a newbie here so maybe what I think don't really matters, but just because we are devs all we have to do is recycling old software development jokes and versions of clients-are-suckers-in-less-than-ten-lines ?
Currently I'm between two jobs, spending my time on a personnal project, and yes also watching some crap. Why not mention that here ? I think devs are actually capable of having things to say about more than just development. But maybe that's just my opinion.

@Faraaz And by the way, I think devrant could become something else than one other of these unfriendly communities all over the web that welcomes you with agressive feelings and other forms of "you don't belong here leave us".

I mean, if we want to continue to complain about Stackoverflow comments, let's make an effort here, no ?

I think you are missing the point. If you think like that, basically anything in life can be trimmed down to a boring version like you now feel about GoT.

Movies / stories or what ever is not just about the A and Z. It's about the journey from A to Z and how the plot unveils. That is where real content and source of entertainment lives.

@HoloDreamer I was expecting some comment like yours, you're right, until a certain point. The dialogs writing, the rythm and other technical choices have their importance. I never once felt that way watching The Wire for example. It's just choices about how making the show, in GoT they make a succession of mini-scenes with a shit-ton of characters so every scene just shows us a bit of events and lets us exciting ourselves about what is coming next. Again, I understand your point but not every show or movie is made like that...
