Sadly I just had to switch to android, I was in a shop and a notification popup: "Are you enjoying this shop? share some comment, picture, review...) ... the notification was from google maps, it was the latest google app to be disabled, now there is only play store. google account is used only for the play store... fun facts that most of people complains about windows 10 telemetry, but almost nobody complains about "don't be evil" google

@Admim how do you know? Maybe not directly but still use your data, that have no estimated value, to make money... Are you referring to someone else that is selling your personal data?

Those types of notifications are tied to location history afaik, in which case just disabling the maps app is not enough as the data is collected by Play Services. You should disable Location History if you have privacy concerns.

@dontbeevil Basically, they only share your data if:

You ask them to share it.

A government forces them to share it in court.

You have a Google apps domain administrator managing your account(s).

They need a trusted third-party to help process it — using these same privacy standards.
