    Losers are the ones who look back on their code 3 years later and wish they had a comment to kick start the understanding process as to the context of the code and that which isn't explainable by the code (doing this here because such and such or why etc). Great code should be readable but comments can enhance context and understanding and greatly assist when you've not looked at that bit of code in some time.

    I would wonder the state of Linux kernel if the core developers were to heed your suggestion of not using comments?

    "Why waste time commenting, I know my code, I wrote it, if there's a problem I can fix it"... 3 weeks later "who wrote this broken shit code"
