mdalex2537y@leviwhalen I suggest you don't do it, it make look beneficial for short term, but long term you will want to kill yourself

Voxera113887yWell. Buying users is what many large companies are doing with social media but as with free service, it only works if users are your product ;)

Shodan4987yMobile advertising platforms can actually sell you app installs - how they guarantee those can be explained by statistical confidence, social networking, UI trickery of the worst kind, summoning circles or "outsourcing", I suppose

I was more trying to understand if by “buying users” you meant buying ads. It seems you mean buying actual users. That seems pointless...isn’t that the point of marketing? To intrigue someone to download your app and use it, and hopefully have them pay you?

Shodan4987y@leviwhalen I think the logic is that getting someone to discover and engage with your app in the first place is the hard part - if they become a regular active user, continued usage will pay off the cost of "acquiring" the user and turn into profit. You basically outsource marketing - a lot of startups/companies don't have the resources for an in-house marketing department when starting out.

I was told that buying users was a good idea, that's all I have to say
