@AL1L intellij isnt much better though, regularly uses 4 gb for me but I don't really care, it's so much better than any other ide I've tried so totally worth it

Straight out of college, I used eclipse on my presentation to my very first job interview. I was so proud of it and never realised how embarrassing it was. I was naive. College doesn't tell you shit, you have to carry yourself to be updated.

QA Lead: we should switch to intelliJ cause it's faster to set up across the machines. From now on, we will use Gradle.

My colleague: I will keep on using Eclipse

Later, new library added, lets say ini4j.

    Me: updating the gradle.build
My colleague: watching howtos setting up for over an hour...

IntelliJ and any other Java based editor is bad. Its just hogs memory and slows down hard over time. The bad thing is that is the best thing in the market right now. :/

@Forside No vim because vim isnt a bad advice 😉

@arekxv you need 2 upgrade. 640K is not enough anymore

@nickhh Really? 16GB RAM, i7 and SSD is not enough anymore? When does it become the problem with the IDE and huge JVM and not the PC itself?

Hmmm, anyway, I have not seen IDEs being memory hogs. Yes, it will take a gig of ram or maybe even two. So what? You get so much productivity out of it. Maybe you are also running a bunch of containers or services? Maybe your SSD is close to full and started crawling down. @arekxv
