Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

If it is broke, release mandatory patches once a week for five years while you rewrite the entire thing. And then sell it and start the cycle over.

as long as they don't put their hands into developing Git/Github world is safe. Don't care if they fucked up with their own solutions or not, just better not fuckup our day to day tools! -- Says an MS Windows user so that no one calls me Linux/Apple fanboy :)

@jespersh But look up why Linus Torvalds started the GIT-Project:
Because the Gnu/Linux-Project got too big to maintain it publicly and the existing VC-Software didn't statisfy him.
Now M$ uses it to better maintain their OS which is btw a rival to Linux.

@gitpush they do develop git, and they've added a thing called Git Virtual File System which allows you to clone gigantic repos, without creating all the files.

@Mayhem93 You're right. Microsoft used to have principles. Standing to what they did and seeing the Customer (e.g. of a Windows-Copy) as the king.
Nowadays they're doing what every big company does:
    - Licensing instead of selling their products
    - sending and selling all your data to the highest bidder
    - don't giving a fuck about you as long as you keep using their services (Windows 10, Office360, OneDrive, Skype, etc.) so they can harvest your data
    - doing everything that makes the public believe they are a good and reputable company (e.g. open source projects)
    - copying other brands makespans (ChromeBook -> Windos 10S, MacBooks -> SurfaceLaptops)

Some of it may seem nice from them, but when it comes to interesting things such as DirectX for other platforms they keep their old proprietary ways.

In my perspective they have not changed much. They got only bigger and sneakier, so it isn't that obvious anymore.
