I see so many rants on here about people getting upset with Windows and deciding to suddenly migrate to Linux. Am I the only one who slowly transitioned to Linux over the time span of serval years and just stopped using Windows because I wasn't really using it that much anymore and not because it did anything wrong?

I think it’s just hype, everyone posting they moving to linux, I want to join in too.

My moneys on 2-4 weeks and they’ll be back on windows.

I try different distros within a VM but haven’t settled on anything as a primary OS, windows does that job fairly good, sure it has its moments you want to burn it too the ground though.

I'm taking my time. I like the ease of windows since I know it. But I like learning new things

I moved to Windows from Mac, and trying various distros on another box. So maybe I am slowly migrating to Linux. Who knows.

For me, it's a similar story.
Back in 2009 - 10, we were taught Visual basic and C++. I hated C++ because our school used turbo C++. An year later, our school switched to red hat and that's when C++ became good for me. Though I coded in plain text editor but even that was way better than turbo. That's when I switched from Windows to linux.

I slowly migrated over to OSx over a few years, mainly for design purposes but also made development much easier. Unfortunately no OS is perfect and covers everything so I keep my gaming rig running Win10.

I can't move to Linux I think, my laptop is from the company and I think they only allow the windows they put on it.

For home I have to stay windows as well, otherwise I can't play all the games I want.

I hope that In a few years enough games are Linux compatible that I'll switch

I prefer the Windows UI experience, but I love bash. With bash on Windows 10, I now get an integrated experience. Plus, Word, Publisher, One drive make my life significantly easier although I tend to prefer creating documents with markdown using Rstudio.

@maven yeah, bash on Windows is cool although it really bugs me that when you drag files into the terminal it uses the Windows path not the Linux one.
