    Aside from living, is it bad the worst thing I'm worried about is going without power? Last year when Hurricane Matthew hit my town, some were without electricity for an entire week. Thank the Lord we got ours within like a day. I honestly don't think I can survive going a week without power.

    (It's supposed to hit me on Monday or Tuesday, but a lot can change in week.)

    @jhh2450 those are definitely on extreme ends of the worrying scale. Lol

    I hope you stay safe!!! And keep power.

    @QueenMorgana Well my house is on a slightly elevated area, so flooding is highly unlikely. My apartment at school on the other hand, it's apparently flood happy. Other than that, my ass stays inside during the bad weather. Going to find a nice book and just chill out. (Also really glad I kept my legos to play with 😂😂).

    @QueenMorgana But I mean, aside from everyone surviving, what's there to worry about? My car, house, and possessions in general can all be replaced. I just would like to be able to live my day to day life as much as possible while waiting on this shit to end. Plus showers are essential. I HATE feeling dirty.

    Be safe guys and girls

    @jhh2450 as long as you're ok, that's all I really care about. Things are replaceable, yes, but it's a hassle lol

    I got $150k house insurance so I'll be better off if the fucker hits my house
  • 2
    @PerfectAsshole lol. That's one way to look at it
  • 4
    @QueenMorgana yep I'm supost to be right where its coming next week. I can buy 3 houses around here with that and get them fixed up nice. But since i would turn out pretty good its either going to evaporate or do a hard turn

    The Netherlands is mostly below sea level, that's why we've adapted and have become great at building dams and dikes and general flood control. I don't understand how in those vulnerable parts of the USA, so much damage can still be done everytime a hurricane hits even though everyone knows what's going to happen.
  • 1
    @PerfectAsshole 😂😂 if it'd keeps people safe, that's not a bad thing, even though the money would be nice lol
  • 4
    @marthulu because here in usa our politics end up taking money from dike building and repair to use for parties and fund raisers and fireworks shows. Do you even get hurricanes in the Netherlands?

    Somebody left the hurricane machine on
  • 2
    When you rather fight a hurricane than fix the bug you're stuck on.

    I'm Bahamian; its projected that we won't get the full wrath of this bitch, but we're still in the red regardless. As soon as I could, I'll let you guys and gals know that I'm still alive and well.

    @QueenMorgana so far so good sweetie. We're looking at the weekend to get pummeled by this bitch. But it's getting crazy around here with shortages on gas, water, and various foods. People are just the fucking worst, and more so when they panic.
  • 3
    @MissDirection Yea the panic caused gas to go up like 70 cents. I was able to get like 3/4 a tank of gas for $25 last Monday. I filled up on labor day and it cost me $30 for 2/3 a tank. I was salty as fuck, tbh.

    I'm not even going to dare step foot in Walmart or any grocery at that.

    @MissDirection yeah gas prices are rising here cause the last huricane tore texas a new asshole. Its already went up $0.50 and i swear theres more traffic than there was two weeks ago

    @skprog No, I used me living a few metres below sea level and being able to cope with water as an example on how the Netherlands handles natural storms. Meh probably not fair to compare such a huge country with a tiny one, it's probably just harder to take proper care of all the infrastructure..
  • 2
    @marthulu a fellow dutchy
  • 1
    @marthulu where do you study?
  • 2
    @marthulu its just our country we have a problem with our infrastructure. Political stuff gets in the way of allowing it to be repaired. Here in florida. I too live very close to water level.
  • 1
    As i said the fucker turned a hard right and is tearing Florida a new asshole
