Yeah, my youtube feed is full of depressing stuff too, in my case it's the "More AI News! This changes everything!" kind of stuff.

Pretty sick and tired of those, but I can't help but click on it once in a while, so youtube thinks I'm absolutely excited about it...

The user controls what they get in the recommendations. It tells more about you than youtube.

I watch many tech channels, coding channels, Amsterdam vlogs, weed vlogs, travelling vlogs etc so often also music videos and shit. they don't show up in my feed that frequently.

And the topic in the rant does. What gets shown to you is NOT you-specific. It's an algorithm that does its thing.

@SidTheITGuy it's absolutely controlled by you. The algorithm is optimised to feed you content that you keep watching. If you don't want to see something in your feed, you need to watch it in incognito only. And you can hide specific videos and channels from the feed. Downvoting helps, too.

Every now and then, there's a more exploratory recommendation where the algorithm probes your interests. That can be a bit dense and never learn that you didn't like something. But mostly the recommendations are completely in your own hands.

I don't know chief, my YouTube feed is mostly: Linux news, Minecraft/Gaming videos, Random tutorials, sometimes a tech lecture or two, Funny Vtuber clips, and videos of a cute "couple" that I enjoy watching.

Oh and foxes, loooots of foxes, wolves, bunnies, dogs, coyotes etc. They are ADORABLE.
