    😍😍 finally someone as addicted to big RAM as I am
  • 22
    @QueenMorgana you can never have too much RAM, as far as I am concerned. ❀️❀️
  • 12
    that spec tho'
  • 26
    @harrizsb they took all my money πŸ˜‚
  • 6
    who needs 32G jesus christ
  • 20
    @ParkCity Chrome, Android Studio, Minesweeper. Two are true one is a lie :p
  • 6
    @Archer04 you forgot to mention solitaire
  • 9
    @harrizsb you need at least 64 GB of RAM and a SLI of GTX 1080Ti to run it at 720@30
  • 6
    @Archer04 damn it must be 4d
  • 6
    It is powerful machine but it doesn't look like it but who's care...
  • 2
    @Archer04 i think you mean 1024x600 @ 25.97
  • 5
    @ParkCity yes, you are right, I meant 800*600@15
  • 3
    Noooyyyyce
  • 4
    . . . Not to be that guy. But it looks like one of the old HPs. Just not as thick.
  • 4
    @projektaquarius way to be that guy πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‰
  • 2
    @QueenMorgana I have a new hp, pretty good but not as good as this one, and I was pissed about it too.

    Android Studio: Cool 32GB RAM, this is going to be fun!
    Chrome: Time to test those RAMs

    Enjoy your new laptop ^_^
  • 3
    @projektaquarius I can't use hinges like those. They don't last long πŸ˜‚
  • 2
    @QueenMorgana I basically don't use mine. I have a dock with a dual monitor thing. Eventually it will become my multimedia computer. I figure that will be after we get married, I win the lottery, and I become president
  • 2
  • 2
    @QueenMorgana maybe if one of those happened. Though if I really wanted it to happen I would buy a lotto ticket.
  • 1
    You didn't mention the graphic card details
  • 1
    Well it's nice that you have so much storage, but as for the OS, or maybe just in general, I would probably have went with an SSD, I didn't think it was soooo fast until I tried it.
  • 2
    What doesn't blow away apple products for developing :I
    (unless web development)
  • 2
    @dontbeevil Oh I'm such a fool xD

    @rantOverflow or budget wise. But if he had more budget to invest at CPU. Then go for intel. Or else amd, I'm on considering about using Ryzen 5 1500x to my pc right now. Since it's much cheaper than i5 6600k πŸ˜…

    @ParkCity someone who uses virtual machines :). I wish I had more than 16 gigs so I can allocate more to the docker vm (because I'm on windows)
  • 0
    ... but ... but ... you’re running Windows tho. * Ducks and dives the imminent OS war *

    I’ve gone through the “Can I move over to another machine?” exercise every year since I’ve started using Apple machines ( buying them second hand though ) and the answer is always no 🀣
  • 1
    Aaaaaaand it's running WindBlows
  • 0
    @dontbeevil hehe.

    I can however connect my Macbook to any screen, keyboard or mouse tho.
  • 0
    How big is the screen?
  • 3
    Rather than respond individually...

    15.6" screen

    Intel graphics

    I7 7500U 2.7

    2-3 VM's

    Jesus Christ only ran 16GB RAM

    Africa doesn't need RAM
  • 1
    Ok you've got VMs on it, I will stay the rant about there being such a thing as too much ram.
  • 3
    Because they have a laptop rather than a server.
  • 0
    omg.. a laptop Hulk.. nice
  • 3
  • 4
  • 4
    @irene yes but it's still cheaper than a MacBook with less than half the specs. This machine will last me for years.
  • 1
    @QueenMorgana seriously, I would expect every developer laptop to have 32GB today. I'm actually looking towards 64GB, but I guess I'm spoiled like that.
  • 1
    My usual comment when I see beastly big laptops in the "desktop replacement" class is along the lines of "doesn't seem like you're going to move that very often, a desktop computer would be better bang for your buck", but I keep forgetting that 15-inchers - the limit of portability to me - can carry this kind of hardware nowadays...
  • 1
    @MissDirection lol πŸ˜‚
  • 0
    @rantOverflow docker for windows is based on a hyper-v vm with Linux on it. Here's an example. And what's wrong with running on laptops lol? I've only worked with laptops for the past years.

    Am I the only one who's bothered by the fact that he didn't say which i7 and what type of RAM he has ?
  • 0
    @Archer04 i hear minesweeper is pretty resource intensive
    who needs a fast gradle build anyway πŸ˜‚
  • 0
    @Archer04 what am i, a pleb? i don't run stuff in 4:3 uf i can help it; 640x360 @ 24 fps
  • 0
    @kenogo exactly my thoughts - 2 drives in that thing? geez
  • 3
    @ParkCity at least yours has a screen...

    Guys! You're missing the important question here:

    Can it run Minecraft?
  • 0
    @Zennoe Dave?
  • 1
    Aaand Windows.

    Behold, Windows updates are coming.

    They'll be here soon, right when you're in the middle of something important. And there's nothing you could do about it.

    *Evil background plays*

    What's the battery life on that?
  • 1
    @SmoothHacker longest I've had it unplugged so far is 3 hours and the battery was down to about 38%.
