Friend was not there next day because Boss literally took him to furniture store called urban outfitters
And got 11 sofa based on the choice of this team mate.

Later boss expressed he is sorry. He said he was hating back to back meetings he was doing with CA to get taxes right.
He got to know about our hard work from someone. He called this team mate specially and asked if he could find good dev chair, a sofa type.

Guess what, this person sends me text at 9 and says, our boss is going crazy and actually just asked me to help him choose sofa for us.. he was laughing too.

I took this chance and told my friend to select a cozy, gradsize sofa with a coffee holder.

I respect my boss. If it was someone else things could have been different.

You mentioned he was doing taxes... So my first thought was that maybe he bought you guys couches to get more expenses for the company so that he wouldn't have to pay so much tax for the earnings. Kind of a win-win-chillax situation. ;)
