How many here know surge.sh? it seems each time I mention it somewhere, nobody knows it, checks it out and thanks me. It basically allows you to host a static webpage on their servers - for free and with custom domain if you wish. They are also the creators of Cordova/Phonegap.

I know it. Never used it. That's it.

Probably most dev's got a server somewhere (root/vps/webhosting) anyways and usually you can host quite a bunch of sites on such a hosting. So I don't really see the need for it. (Exept for like school kids wanting to build their "personal" page (is that still a thing?))

@Wack I have root servers and virtual servers myself and still use it - its perfect to just quickly publish some static site that you don't want to bother throwing on your own resources and yes its indeed a great solution for people not being able to manage servers themselves, doesn't matter who it is, since its always great to have free hosting that doesn't bombard your visitors with ads or limits your traffic etc. - the offer is even better than most "cheap" paid services out there, which most can only afford per month.
