  • 9
    this would be funnier if u were a c programmer
  • 6
    @linuxxx :( no more little bubbles. on the other hand, ypu can use big scissors to pop the big long bubbles!
  • 7
    @nickj Then I have to buy scissors first πŸ˜…
  • 11
    @BindView i C what u did there πŸ™„
  • 6
    The tiny bubbles are dead.

  • 4
    For people who like and want to buy this phone: http://s.aliexpress.com/ZZFnaAvI
  • 4
    @just-basic-user Haha I got it in a flash sale for 118 euros!
  • 3
    @linuxxx It’s almost same price in aliexpress(from mobile app) but the delivery will be slow.
  • 3
    Just twist them all together.
    They still pop :p
  • 3
    How many phones have you gone thru in 1yr?!?!?
  • 4
    And now let's try to unlock the bootloader, twrp, and custom flash this fucker!
  • 2
  • 3
    @billgates Second one only xD
  • 2
    @busuu Razer Ornata!
  • 2
    I got the same when I ordered the OnePlus 2
  • 3
    @busuu I hate wireless keyboards ;)
  • 2
    I was expecting to see you unlock the bootloader, wise choice and welcome to the free world :D
  • 2
    @busuu As soon as wireless is the same amount of hackable as wired (lot less than now) I'll go to wireless :)
  • 1
    How good are these cheaper phones? I've got myself a Huawei mate 9, it is expensive at, but I love it so much.
  • 1
    @DjSall Have had three now. They're awesome except for (in one case for me) the battery.

    Currently flashing stock android 7 onto it :)
  • 4
    What are you planning to flash it with? I was under the impression that umi os is already privacy-focused

    Edit: I should've hit refresh before posting. I'll rephrase my question: why flash with stock and replace what they claim is a privacy-focused OS?
  • 2
    @LrdShaper The second that a bloatware app asks for your location access you know that that's bs :). There's so fucking much bloatware on this thing
  • 1
    It looks like a little lilo for the phone to sleep on.
  • 1
    @linuxxx i remember differently...

    didn't ur old phone die

    then u bought a cheap one but the battery keeps dying

    Then u got a privacy phone

    then u removed Google from something...

    And now this?
  • 1
    @billgates Nope. Old phone had too limited features, bought new one which had a bad battery, switched back to old phone and now this new one
  • 1
    @linuxxx @so you made ur old one a privacy phone and removed all fb n Google from it... And now you have a new one and ur going to do the same?
  • 5
    @linuxxx well fuck! I've been eyeing both the c2 and z1pro because of umi os. Then I'll stay with my s3 running replicant as my daily driver
  • 1
    @billgates That's the idea yeah. That's why I'm rooting it :)
  • 0
    Does this phone support otg?
  • 0
    I can't find the phone on gsmarena. What are the LTE bands it supports?
  • 1
    Did you jump on the bubbles?
  • 1
  • 2
    @linuxxx why did you decide to go with this specific one? just cause of the flashsale?
  • 2
    So sorry for my comment last night lol... alcohol..
  • 2
    @JoshBent Nope. I've searched for a new phone for months before deciding :). This was one of the few ones with very good reviews for the price AND a metal body/good specs. The flash sale came out of nowhere the moment I wanted to buy :P
  • 1
    @AnonyOps I was already wondering xD
  • 2
    But... Can it run doom?
  • 3
    my laptop came packed like that too! i think it's neat, and it makes me feel a lot better than just a thin layer of bubblewrap does.
  • 2
    I want to get that one 2.
  • 0
    @linuxxx What were the specs that set this one apart from the others? really interested what specs made this a buy for you.
  • 2
    @JoshBent 4gb ram, 64gb storage, 6inch,metal body and that for fucking less than 150 euro.
  • 0
    @linuxxx nice... Honestly unless ur tech illiterate (don't know how to offload ur photos) and keep installing n wasting time and money on mobile games, it's pretty overkill.

    Honestly with my OPO, all I use it for is internet, Sudoku, videos, n reading nowadays.... Plus the usual daily life stuff like banking
  • 0
    @billgates I just have loads of music :)
  • 0
    @linuxxx that I don't know but do you really need to load ur whole collection which btw would still be played thru crappy headphones?
  • 1
    @billgates Haha, crappy headphones? They're worth around 300 euro and I have them as a monthly subscription. When something breaks, i get a free replacement part.

    HaaS; Headphones as a Service!
  • 0
    @linuxxx o I thought u use the one that come with the phone...

    So ur headphones cost more then ur phone and u prolly use FLAC or done lossless encoding?

    Does ur phone handle that?
  • 1
    @linuxxx What kind of headphones are those?
  • 0
    @JoshBent Dutch ones, exclusively. I was one of the first ones who supported the project through kickstarter. Site is dutch but: https://gerrardst.nl
  • 0
    @linuxxx how do they keep this model alive, considering that those items are hygiene products in EU and can't be given to other members of that subscription?
  • 3
    It's FedEx proof
  • 2
    @Desjna that is so true
  • 2
    Mhmm
  • 1
    100 bucks?

    Ohh, c-note * 2 = 200
  • 1
    So basically a copycat galaxy s7 without the edge display?
  • 0
    @watzon Well if you start to think. Like that, shitloads of phones are copycats from Samsung and iPhone nowadays.

    Nah, i don't think they intended to make it a copycat, doesn't look like that one much imo
  • 1
    @PrivateGER @nickj @linuxxx @BigMacca101 get yourself some of these
  • 0
    @lucaIO some of what?
  • 1
    @nickj oh sorry i forgot the link xD https://amazon.de/gp/aw/...

    @matsaki95 Have you ever tried one in a store etc? The curved display when you hold it actually gives you the feeling of having no borders, especially combined with the rich blacks, looking movies or videos is a pretty nice thing to have and you are anyway going to have a bumpercase - theres really nice cases that protect the note/s8 even with a frontal lip crash, so really - its a huge progress since they labratted reactions to that first note edge years ago. Your opinion sounds really unfair and grumpy, there is no need for such hate, I get if one is mad towards removing functions like the headphonejack, but a display that actually has some new progress?..
  • 0
    @matsaki95 Sure, no problem, but I'll address some more;

    - the cases I was talking about are actually bending around those edges, meaning they dont hide the actual edge display
    - the glass used is iirc the newest corning gorilla glass 5, making it pretty tough to break
    - the misstapping was an issue actually on the first note edge, but iirc hearing from some colleagues back then that had one, it seemed to have been patched and with the newer models I didnt misstap once when I tried them, especially because you can either deactivate slideareas or theres never anything tappable anyway - meaning if you type, your keys dont actually wrap around the edge but stay on the actual rectanhle display area facing you.

    If somebody sees my comment twice: its a devrant bug, if I delete now one of them both will get deleted so I just leave them as they are.. @dfox
  • 0
    @matsaki95 I'm currently myself really trying to tell myself I don't need one of them, seems to be pretty solid phones finally and the 1k$ pricetag for me is really a no-brainer with the pen function on the note, since I am filling up notebooks almost bi-weekly with notes and nobody - even chinese brands have wacom support on their phones.

    You made me think of buying this phone, nice specs but pre installed OS is shit. Was it hard to install a custom rom?
  • 1
  • 1
    @lucaIO Yeah I have :). It literally installs the stock UMIDIGI rom, not stock android :/. Thanks for the effort though!
  • 0
    @linuxxx oh! Have you installed "real" stock android now?
  • 0
    @lucaIO No I meant that that rom they're talking about in the article is literally the stock rom that comes with the phone :/
  • 0
    @linuxxx yes, but you have written that you have installed the stock android (not the stock umi os) how did you do this? Have you had any guide?
  • 0
    I had that exact packaging (the bubbles) when ordering a new screen for my phone
  • -1

    @14karan Can't remember mate, this was years ago and I've had a few phones since then πŸ˜…

    @linuxxx Weird, that person just copied my reply and added a sentence to it. Looks like you tried to answer a spam bot maybe?
  • 0
    @lucaIO I guess... πŸ˜…
