kosio-t23917yBetter get Zotac GPU and remove the WiFi if not really needed else looks good.
And a quick note for the CPUs, I am unaware of support for Ryzen but if you change your mind and get intel(6 <= gen) keep in mind that the linux intel hd graphics support is very poor. -

Thanks for your recommendations!
Any reason for Zotac in particular?
I use WiFi currently, although am looking at moving the router closer to my desk, so I could use Ethernet later down the track.
Ryzen is compatible in this build (to my knowledge), but Intel is good too.
Any recommendations for the CPU? -
kosio-t23917y@coolq Zotac gtx 1050 is same (almost) specs but 100$ and smaller.
And for the cpu: I would buy ryzen(you should look what the support is) or little older intel (5 generation for example) because graphics on linux are completely supported and the price is lower. -
@coolq just my experience speaking, i had both 1050 and now 460 and the latter delivers a bit more performance-wise but it was cheaper
-
kosio-t23917y@coolq Totally forgot that, sorry.
@ThatDude I assumed that if it’s a desktop, he can probably remove the wifi. -

Hmm, interesting! I think I'll look into the rx460 😄
@just-basic-user
No problem, I appreciate your effort!
@ThatDude
I currently use WiFi, but that may change 😤 -
Mizz14175857yI really wouldnt use a 1050 for gaming, 1060 or 1070 would be much better...

EDIT 1
How high is your Budget?
I mean, with this build youll be mostly playing on low or medium Settings... -
coolq48247y@IamGay6969 Okay, but I think the 1050/rx460 is enough for what I need, I've done some research, and for the games I play, it should be fine.
@RealKC Faster RAM? Okay, I didn't know that, thanks!
