5 reasons I love devRant

1. I can't understand the point of Facebook. And it has such a shitty UI, but devRant has a beautiful despite it is complete JS

2. It doesnt have 140 char limit.

3. It is 99% english.

4. Trolls and script kiddies are rare here.

5. It is fairly lightweight.

======================

1 reason I hate devRant

1. Total waste of time.

    @ThatDude i should focus to my code and my imaginary rubber duck, but i am talking to real people. Waste of time confirmed.

    I kinda agree on and disagree on the waste of time ... because It is really preventing me from being productive recently (since I joined) not that I was very productive to begin with but it also isn't a waste of time, because It's a really fun community :D

    I was mentioning waste of time because sometimes i forget what to do by reading devrant. It killed be couple of times.

    1. Arrived to school 14 sec before the bell

    2. Managed to stop windows update. Remaining time was like a couple of seconds.

    3. I used all of my battery, had to find a phone booth to call

    Oh, it might be a waste of time but it saves me money.

    It keeps me from putting my fist through the monitor. 😜

    Are you sure about 4.?

    Did you say lightweight? Not according to my OnePlus phone which is always telling me to close devRant because it's battery hungry af.

    @DuckyMcDuckFace keep in mind I use devRant MUCH more than Twitter and Instagram

    @Dacexi the irony....

    @DuckyMcDuckFace it is kinda well-known that oneplus and devRant is kinda incompatible (seriously)

    @Npstr yes, way better than fb.

    @bioDan haha, i will remember that

    I don't agree with the UI. As much as I like devRant for the content, idea, community, cofounders, etc... the one thing I don't like is the app itself. Looks like some kind of phonegap thingy, and have absolutely no look-and-feel of neither Android nor iOS. Not to mention it drains battery and doesn't manage state properly, bla bla bla.

    I did native mobile development for both phone OS so I'm very picky on this one.

    Also Facebook's UI is actually very good.
