Do you guys have "principles", like a moral law you won't ever break ? Such as never working for a start-up, a specific CMS, etc?

I'm deeply anti-military for personal / historical reasons (plus you'll get hard time to find a dude that is less patriot than me), and yesterday my company announced that they won the call for tender that have been made by the french defense ministry, this is the biggest contract my company got, and obviously they take it seriously.

So it means that in about two weeks, we'll start a new project and work with the army to understand their needs and stuff. And I can't leave because I haven't finished my studies yet...

I feel like I'm betraying myself...

    @C0D4 list.push('Drupal');

    Never again.

@Drillan767 I haven’t had the honour of Drupal, but could always add expression-engine and Joomla.

@g-m-f I once worked for a start-up who would send hundreds of thousands mails filled up with advertisements all day, I hated myself every single day I worked for them, this is the kind of things that makes you think about the sentence "don't do to others what you don't them to do to you"

@theScientist I'm honestly thinking about working for some company that works for environment and stuff, at least I would so something for the planet in my own scale

I once interviewed with a company who it turned out did maintenance contracts for porn sites. Dropped it like it was made of lava.

I’d never consider working with Windows, not even for Microsoft. Not that I hate Windows I just can’t bear the thought of working with it every day. Also Wordpress would not be ok for me.

I don't know exactly what your problem is with them, but I think that if you have some chance here to improve them, take it.

@BitFlipped Let's oversize my problem: I wouldn't work for nazis, especially if my work would help them a lot 😊
I guess I can say I'm altruist, but there are limits to it 😁

(Doesn't mean I think soldiers are nazis tho)

    Law 1: No Wordpress
Law 2: Not to Support IE
LAW MOTHERFUCKING 3: NOTHING EVER EVER EVER EVER WITH JBOSS AND JAVA ENTERPRISE

@irene there's a whole discussion to be had here about the damage porn does to everyone involved; both consumers and the performers, both of which have been shown repeatedly by many different studies... But I suspect you're actually being facetious.

No corporate loyalty. Ever. It is business and always stays that way.

@Bitwise I've been thinking to what you said

In a way it will help the soldiers themselves even though it will help the general organization (I can't say how for obvious reasons). So in a way, my work will help the managers more than those who work for them, and thereby my feel of betraying myself won't leave :')

I used to have a soul, but now I’ll pretty much do anything if it pays. Except Wordpress of course.

Personally, no WordPress and no clients that aren't responsive when you need them. So basically no websites. It's easy money here but also lots of cheapskates and the stress/discomfort make it not worthwhile.

..and i try to avoid anything with printers.
