Caused an outage on production because of a bug in the make file that hasn't been fixed for years. It hasn't been fixed because everyone knows to side step it. Except for me. Unit now. So the bug shall continue to live until the next newbie gets smacked in the face by it.
Kinda feels like an initiation. -

B: boss
M: me
B "Do this work (basically a document parser) "
A "Done using regexp"
B "The data coming in is different now"
A "ok, updated the regexp parts to account for this"
B "hmm, I you should rewrite it using library tool coworker made"
A "eeer ok, redone all the work now but it's a little hacky"
B "oh, library tool isn't flexible enough. Hmmm maybe use regexp?"

Whelp, I guess it just one of those days. Keep making stupid mistakes at work. On the plus side my boss is really understanding and hasn't given me a bollocking.1

I swear to god I feel like I'm getting paid to just watch my boss code. My job is more debugging and submitting the pull request for whatever the boss throws together over team viewer.2

Well this morning has been fun with Github's pull requests and issues not working.

Code reviewer keeps removing my comments saying, "This will only be read by other programmers, the code should speak for itself".
<hyperbole>
This is the exact opposite to back in uni where for every line of code they demanded 2 lines of comments!

Wow, great pay! What an opportunity!
"Who wants a pint to help me out...?
I would like to find someone who is experienced in building & designing websites..." - dude in uni course FB group5 -
Recently graduated and in a job. Had a pull request merged with no comments or changes asked for by the code reviewer today. It's the little victories.
