I get the impression this one would have asked if it hadn't failed to reboot part way through... Either way, it's super annoying.

Atlasian, clearly.

Didn't have to — he up and stopped coming to work, no notice given.

I'm hoping for a flood of downvotes so great, that it overflows a the high score.

I'm debugging a legacy USB I/O API that uses the Windows API for all it's low-level communications. WriteFile() fails, GetLastError() returns an out-of-scope value flagged as an "application error". The USB Vendor has no docs on the code returned.
Turns out our API has been ignoring this error for years — and all other errors returned by WriteFile().
... Guess it wasn't important?

That's why "Washing Windows" is always on my chore list.

I don't think I'd use it... I rarely use keyboard functions (other than the num pad) that take my hands off the home row.

Sounds like most of the legacy code I work with.

I love semantic, but I have to fight with it more than I do with Bootstrap.

Buggy. How am I seeing this?

what about root, root, and root? Don't forget us physicist.

funny... I always thought they viewed us as slaves. ;)

second for Mattermost. I host my own server for chats – it's the open source equivalent of Slack.

How they separate the practical examples from the structural documentation, while also making the practical examples useless, and the structural documentation ineffective is a mystery to me.

Sounds like he needs to read sourcemaking.com a few times. 😉
If he can't see the forest for the trees, then refactor while you write. -
That's a weird stance for a manager to take... Is he just bit following good design patterns, that'll land you with a bunch check of rigid, unmanageable code later on? Or is it something more sinister?
