Hope their task manager tools aren't grunt or gulp!

*slow clap*

It's fun to poke the eyes of a designer every now and then. Hell, I do it daily. But you bet your ass that I need and respect the job they do on my projects. If they want to wear the title developer, so be it. Your "I'm a 'CS'" code monkey nonsense shows a level of salt that should be professionally analyzed. This is not a rant l, so much as a cry for help!

Not sure disrespecting people in this network is the right approach to take. We can argue Apple v Microsoft v Linux, MEAN v LAMP, or even some poor souls think Python can be a viable option for everything. But we shouldn't debate who is and isn't a developer. Being a true developer is recognizing that, in order to engineer anything worth a damn, you need developers that specialize in all aspects of software dev.

Dang, recruiters are really hurting now I see.

My father always said, never mix money with family/friends. And in the event you must, its far easier to anticipate non-payment than destroy the relation.
-
And not a peep about politics!
-
This is only the perception until they use something you made. Then you're a know nothing moron.
-
I've seen this as a common bathroom wall.... so common, in fact, I'm wondering if it was the inspiration for GitHubs commit board.
-
Way to go @DoctorDalek! I can't tell if you're rant is sincere or if you're trolling. #WellPlayed

A true artist can work with any medium on any canvas!

Best of luck!

Tabs vs Spaces....

Everyone I've ever tried has just gotten in the way of my typing, or just felt flat out wrong.
-
I'm right there with you! It's like a devs way of checking a body for a pulse. Especially when updating Android Studio or Xcode!
-
@edisonn sounds like a good rule of thumb.
-
Or, "asd" & "jkl".....
-
Took me a sec.... Yikes!
-
@floppycatfish I'm not alone!
-
The young ones are so full of hope. It's adorable...
-
What are you going to do on those days that require the big cup, like Monday - Friday?
-
@pixeltherapy I bet you drive a Kia Soul.... ;)
-
@cedricmaillot38 I think so. Brackets is still my favorite of the free ones I've tried, but WebStorm is a solid beast of of tool to have to get the job done. Never tried Atom, though. So make note of that in my disclaimer.
-
I use brackets on my Windows machine, and WebStorm on my Mac. WebStorm is totally worth the license though.
-
Now, with Windows 10, you can bash MS all you want...
-
You're going to break a lot more shit in you career, if you're worth a damn as a developer. Never worry about who's to blame, and just focus on fixing the challenge presented. Those who look for someone to blame are largely ignorant to the problem and the solution.

If I recall correctly this story did not have the happy ending everyone hoped for. Nothing dire, but a number of difficult circumstances kept this guy from becoming a success story.
-
Shhhhhh! Too much publicity like this, and we're going to start seeing "outside-the-box" thinking recruiters on here! Last thing we all need is to get emails saying: "Hey, saw your rant about how much you hate C#, funny stuff! Listen, I've got this .NET opportunity I think you'd be perfect for......"
-
Is it sexist that no one considered @ursa is a she, before down voting her to oblivion..... And just ranted about her own gender? Isn't that like us bitching about brogrammers?
-
I am still indifferent, but the more web and mobile app dev I've had to do, the easier I've found working with my Mac. It's just easier work the cli, and the post project cleanup (like removing those wonderful "test" directories and packages we all throw down) feels easier.
