I'm a top 2% Stack Overflow users. Evert now and again I get stumped with a legitimate question, and try the site, possibly with an answer. I never get any useful results or upvotes; haven't for years.
In my mind, Stack Overflow is, and has been for a few years, absolutely dead. It's a great repository for outdated information if you need it though. -
It's ASCII, each character represented as two digits in base 33.
-
Ubuntu, for me, installed via the mini.iso installer where you only get core packages and ones you choose, and not all the usual fluff.
-
@Mayhem93 I use bash and powerline on Windows too.
-
Can't spell "Powershell" without "hell"!
-
@Raghnaid I had a guy call me once to say how sorry he is but I didn't get the job... My most awkward conversation ever.

@Dollique if you'd like some detailed information on certificates, free and otherwise, I suggest you read what Troy Hunt has to say on this subject: https://troyhunt.com/on-the-perceiv...
Let's Encrypt is a free service that gives certificates just as good as, say, Comodo DV certificates. Comodo and its like are terrified of that, because they don't and can't add any value (other than EV certificates).
You know how when you use heroku, or cloudflare, or firebase on a custom domain. You still get SSL support? They use Let's Encrypt. They've issued more than 100,000,000 certificates already. They support the newest standards of openness.
In my opinion, once they support wildcards, unless you really need greenbar there'd be no reason to use any other certificate provider. -
The original is QWERTZ, on a keyboard with extra markings in case you decide to change to QWERTY.

@mt3o you can diff the Javascript source which is what actually runs on your machine. You can also just download the source from GitHub and compile it, then you won't even have to do that.
If they wanted to steal your data, they'd avoid mentioning it, they wouldn't explicitly say they don't change anything - because they're a for profit organization and wouldn't put themselves in a position to be sued for no reason. -
@mt3o no, but you're ignoring quite a lot of details, apparently because they don't suit your hatred of VS Code. This is all available within one or two clicks from the page you linked:
- Microsoft has stated they make no changes to the product except in package.json.
- They even told you where to find the modified file so you can see their changes.
- You can set your own endpoints via that same file so you'll get all telemetry data and see it for yourself.
- No revenue engineering or sniffing is required because they have specifically told you how to do it.
Even if you don't believe them, since the source is included in the shipped version, you could simply diff a locally compiled version (of the same version) against theirs and see their changes - again, no reverse engineer required. -
@mt3o it's MIT license. None of what you said is true.

git orphans will find your lost commits. -
My fridge actually has an intermittent bug where sometimes I open it and there's food inside.
-
I'd go gay for vs code.
-
@RodrigoF I hate wifi direct with a passion. Chromecast has been a far smoother experience in my experience.
-
How do you cast porn to your chromecast without opening the app? @RodrigoF
-
A real programmer wouldn't write bugs in the first place.
-
@RodrigoF id he learned that 10 years ago his teacher was outdated...
-
@Midnigh-shcode well given that it's a question about understanding natural language that's the most suitable technology.
-
Because <insert language> is bad and you should feel bad.
-
@Fydrenak being used to it, and not surprised by it, is certainly important, especially in cases where results aren't always immediately apparent.
-
It's quite easy. All you have to do is develop an AI that uses Machine Learning to identify the correct part of a sentence, then train it on millions and millions of annotated examples. For higher accuracy, use a separate instance per language.
-
Nah, I'm not into murder.
-
I never heard about moped gangs when I lived there... Worst crimes I heard of were the pizza thieves.
Oh, and that one murder in the building I lived in. -
WTF? Moped gang?
-
I thought it's because it's clearer on the radio.
-
Nil != zero. You should know that.
-
It makes sense for most 3D games, where the main movement axes are the ground, so that is marked x/y.
-
Chalk dust is vile though.

Told you you should have hired me.
