Oh it didn't work the first time? Why not delaying it instead of actually understand what went wrong!
People sometime.... people... -
As a musician, that's the first thing i saw XD! Then i realized it was STanDart Input Ouput. Fun days!
-
Nice try XD! Was obvious but it was tasty!
-
@gymmerDeveloper Don't worry i know. XD!
-
@mrmr I'm 29, about 10 years in total if i count all my different jobs of full time. Maybe 8 or something, i don't really count and i really do think it does not matter. Truth will still be true regardless of my age/experience.
-
Classic, still is funny even if i saw it thousands of time!

About Maschine or any Native instrument, for now NI is not supporting it at all, and i don't know if there is a possibility to make it work with Wine.
Software like that are case to case scenario, that's unfortunatly the bad news.
The good news is if you talk about maschine though you have a lot of free linux synth software that might be different but will be able to produce as good result as it can be. I know it will be a long process, but learning how synth work will benefit you in the end and will allow you to by pass the need of one specific software.
Here is a list of software supported on linux: http://linux-sound.org/linux-vst-pl...
If you have any other question i'll do my best to answer them to the best of my knowledge! -
Hello! I've been in audio production for quite a while so i hope my experience will help you choose and evolve to be able too use Linux for Audio prod!
The first thing is to be sure that your audio interface is able to run on Linux on that part i can't really help you since i'm still figuring out how to make it compatible with JACK.
For Software: You can use Reaper DAW on Linux. Probably my favorite one. You also have Mixbus which is an emulation of Harrison console. I can vow that i can do any kind of audio editing and audio treatment with only those built-in tools. But you seem to talk a little more about composition, or arrangement because you talk about maschine. -
@cobolplz Also, i don't talk only with technology, i've done several jobs in my life with customer service and i can say to you that it include any domain.
-
@cobolplz
No fact as been given by you. They are opinions. Nothing is showing direct evidence of anything you said. I would advice you to retake science class so you can know what a fact is.
Fact 1: No. There is more older people in my country than younger so by statistics i get as much young people as older people based on their relative number. So it cannot be disprouve nor confirmed which is not a fact only an opinion.
Fact 2: I can get other jobs if i want to, and employers have hard time in my country because we simply don't have enough workforce. Statically company here are struggling to get employees. So i can do whatever to pay my bills almost. I just feel like this platform was built in the idea of ranting, so i do use it. Have a problem with that? I don't care ! :) thank you have a nice day -
@Elyz Like in any job, bad customer are usually the minority. I like to call them the "Louder minority". Of course i rant a lot, but it's my unhealthy way of let out my anger on stupid things.
I often rant more about microsoft that client to be fair. -
Most of my games are available in Linux and the numbers are growing since the latest addition Valve want to include in Steam in the future. For gaming Linux is becoming a possibilities. For myself i only play Stellaris, chat and do music production. The only reason i'm on windows is because of Audio prods... That led me to think about quitting music altogether XD!
-
That PM... Living in utopia that software can magically be done with the tips of a magic wand! We're wizard of course... *Roll eyes*
-
You wanted to kill windows :P?
-
@Root People still use outlook, a lot... Unfortunately, i know because i have to support that dump shit software.
-
2/10 i'm paid to do it, so it explain the bonus 2 points.
-
To be fair to some popular things that i think are good (like The Beatles for example) i would type it like that:
popular != alwaysGood; -
@baeovvulf Now i have a lot of work ideas, that's great, thanks
@myss Added :P -
@Krokoklemme Oh i see, yeah, for the maintainability i'm not sure, i know some people are very outspoken about how it can be done in C. For exemple Casey Muratori from the handmade hero series is doing MOSTLY in C. He is compiling in C++ and his code seem to be highly maintainable. But i'm no expert, in the real world i'm going to face some issues for sure, but it's also true for anything that i learn :P I try to be clean, but sometime, in my experience i have to face problem with a less "coding" approach and more logic. Which is what i'm trying to practice, because i feel like it's a thing that hold me back more that anything else. In the end, if it's in C or Java, if it work well, i would be happy. (i hate java btw but personal opinion, i have nothing against people that use it.)
-
@myss Oh that would be awesome and i would be very thankful! Yes i have a discord, once i get to my house i can give it to you, I don't see any kind of private message in here, but yeah, will do.
I'm there often in the night though, depending of your schedule we might have to sort out when we both gonna be available.
And everyone thank you, i will use every information as best as i can ^^ -
@freeme hmm good point, that should be fairly easy :). if i want to extend it, i have no experience with GUI, (or almost none) What do you recommend?
-
I hate Apple period. Too many reasons to hate them to be honest.
-
Old but gold!
On another note, Computers don't know shit though, so it doesn't translate in the real world :P! -
My brain hurt while trying to find any fucking logic about that... I can only see that code to piss off peoples. If he tried to do that with his/her code he/she succeeded o.O!!!!
-
@mt3o Untrue. I would only have ANOTHER job. Do you think i would stay unemployed?
-
Oh boy... And they think they value security... Fucking bullshit!
-
@monzrmango was about to say it XD!
-
@illegaldisease I've worked for a 3rd party that took calls for AppleCare. I only could handle the 3 week of training before getting the fuck out. For the training, it's minimal knowledge they offer about the product you support. I didn't learn much, everything is locked so i couldn't even learn properly (no notes can be taken also). They told me to buy the product to know it better. I only learned about their policies and all the reason they want to fire you. The pay is shit, less than any tech job i saw!
Apple Care is mainly to convince people buying other Apple products, or fixing basic issue to give the impression they do something. "Let's factory reset the tablet sir" is the kind of tech mentality they have. They don't especially said that it was because they want you to up-sell, but they give you a brief overview on how they want you to handle the calls and it's mostly come to proposing a new product... WHICH IS up-selling in my book... I'm not a sale person, so fuck Fapple. -
@ilPinguino Fair enough, i would be the one to argue you with that. I'm the type of person that say that All-in-One are Immobile Laptops!
I would only correct one thing! Their keyboard are not made FOR morons but BY morons. -
They are right, laptop for game dev is a bad choice all together. I would go even further: A mac for game dev is a terrible choice.
