@electrineer instead I'm playing minecraft with my friends 🤣🤣🤣
-
@black-kite lol i was so lucky getting in this part of the department, from talking to others not all managers are this good even in the same department
-
@black-kite lol yeah my last job wanted Steve's so I know what that is like XD
This job I was so suprised when I got a call from my manager when I was working late early on when I started here and he said to 'go away', that the work would 'still be there tomorrow' XD it felt so weird at the time to have a manager tell me to stop working -
@thebiochemic kinda... The actual hotend part is the same I just printed a new shroud and replaced the fans
-
@thebiochemic I'm guessing so. I can't even find one of the clips anymore so thankfully I have a bunch lol
I was literally gone 20 minutes lol -
@spongessuck no clue what you mean by points here. Lol
-
@retoor I was playing elden ring on twitch
-
@Demolishun what brand did you go with?? I often look at cyber power just because so many models are compatible with https://networkupstools.org/ so I can feed info into my home assistant
-
It didn't attach my img
-
@lorentz lol I turn it on and I see windows 7 with this background....
Yeah I'm dealing with it tomorrow by putting xubuntu or something like @retoor recommend -
Hi @possum probably. I can understand the security reasons for doing this. They've really been trying to tick off checkboxes recently. But I am still gonna complain at my inconvenience
-
@electrineer I do but I'm trying to find reasons not to join a meeting on mondays lol
-
@aviophile friends, I've known them for like a decade at this point so they really should know my organization skills are a little above 'group similar things together'
-
@retoor lol actually this time they were really helping. He was prepping processes that I'm still learning and take me WAY longer than him to setup and also configuring devops for the operations the new files would need while I was setting up local processing and configure to get the source into our company structure for a devops run
I 100% don't think I'd have gotten half of them done by today without his help this time lol -
And devrant squished my picture again. Really should just sign up for imgur or something
-
@We3D I have no clue what is written, I just scanned the QR and found the English instructions lol
It's an Anycubic Photon D2 printer, my first resin based printer so really hoping to get into DND figure printing with the high resolution printing -
Depends on the weekend. Some weekends I'm working on projects or at least existing outside or something
Other weekends i sleep 48 hours -
@MammaNeedHummus yeah... i think i'm gonna enjoy my weekend, then Monday after my 8 hours at my day job I'll send a final discord message to them telling them good luck and that I'm out
Thinking back on everything cause of this post really makes me question why i bothered working with them in the first place -
@lorentz yeah... when I first started helping them I tried to introduce them to proper source control, but 3 weeks later they went back to the bullshit cause it was 'too hard' and 'our method works for us'
ugh thinking back on it now makes me wonder why I even bothered working on this with them at all, even just as a side project. -
@Demolishun that's a cool idea. If I can think of a good way to do it I'll try. Thanks for the idea
-
@CodingTripledad for small things yeah sure. I have a folder full of snippets and scripts too. But they're writing a large script doing a lot of things at once and I feel it needs the structure of functions and also make it readable for anyone else who may need to work on it
-
@bigmonsterlover badly
-
No idea why the image is squashed. Oops
-
@MammaNeedHummus I'm gonna talk to my boss about it, he's been here A LOT longer than me and might have some idea on where to start in automating those checks even if he hasn't done these tasks himself in years.
He's also a lot more accepting of me spending time on random automation stuff than my direct manager is, so I'll definitely get approval to look into it even if he doesn't have an idea of where to start. -
@electrineer I don't think he smokes. He just apparently never cleans his damn room or something idk
-
oof, too late
ahh well here's SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS: BATTLE FOR BIKINI BOTTOM - REHYDRATED since I already have it on steam

@AvatarOfKaine lol fair enough
I don't know what you mean with that Zimmerman thing? -
@AvatarOfKaine cool I think I know where Strabane is
I've been in Pittsburgh all my life lol, so I don't know any different. Never needed to get situated anywhere else yet
Where you at currently? You like it there better? -
@AvatarOfKaine I don't know what you mean with that lol. I'm in Pittsburgh yes
-
@AvatarOfKaine same until I started this job last year, now I've encountered ANSI, utf8, utf8-bom, utf16, utf16-bom, I'm waiting to see utf32 lol
Last week I had an issue where a c# program preserved non-latin characters on windows 10 but not on the main processing server.
The issue had to do with 'endianness' a new term I still don't fully understand but the solution was to make the C# code read the input file using 'BigEndianUnicode' to preserve the special characters.
