@Oktokolo Neat little trick. Putting that one in the miscellaneous but useful category.
-
@jiraTicket I write TWIG so my HTML counts as real development. 🤣
-
Guys honestly I wanted to link directly to the link for the schedule but the DrupalNYC website has every presentation on one page with no anchors to specific presenters.
Here’s the schedule
https://2021.drupalcamp.nyc/program -
@sariel it’s making me money so yes.
-
Hahaha and I am back again. LOL. Life got hectic.
-
@sudocode I lol’d hard to this.
-
I got sucked into the evil shit show known as Twitter and realized it wasn’t a place I wanted to be. I spent too much time worrying about bullshit. It wasn’t fun anymore. DevRant has always been fun and I’m sorry I didn’t participate more here. I’ve quit Twitter and Facebook.
-
@TheAwesome98 already in motion. 🙄
-
@Squarety AGREED. I can't stand Wix. :P
-
@Squarety I just have no love for them. Hover.com for my domains works with no frills and no upsells.
-
@FrodoSwaggins it’s seriously not far off but yeah it’s a bit exaggerated
-
Was going for a solid 3rd place with "Monday" but that slipped to fourth with "Microsoft."
-
Preach!
-
This is the greatest thing all day.
-
Had a client that tried to fire my team because "their website" was still showing all kinds of negative content about their company and himself personally.
They were Google search results from other websites...😑 -
@SauceBoss The real lesson here is. Don't trust anyone. Learn to take care of your own shit.
-
@SauceBoss Really? Gonna give me an ethics lesson after that rant above? Psh. Computer repair people give themselves a bad name. I had no impact on that. I put in my dues, learned a trade that got me out of repairing idiots' computers, and haven't looked back since. Obviously if you're going to repair some ungrateful person's computer, you're not going to go snooping through their shit. I mean what do you think I am? Some kind of monster? I mean literally NO ONE does that do they. -_-
-
Woot!
-
NEVER WORK FOR FREE.
Fuck you. Pay me.
I highly suggest that you Google that phrase and watch Mike Monteiro's video on YouTube. -
Also, DiskDrill that sumbitch and scan for photos. That's always the first step. Rando computers are always fun to snoop around in.
Oh and then maybe repair the thing if you want. -
@mundo03 my man! Lol!
-
Do everything recommended by everyone above. Breathe. When all else fails, pop a Xanax and call it a day. Our jobs aren't worth losing our lives over. Like @CodeSlutLaser suggested, try an app for mitigating stress. I'm on medication currently and I see a therapist monthly. It's worth it.

Seven is my quantitative answer for anything numerical.
-
Seven.
-
FYI @lordbarnhill got the job! 😏😝

You guys could give Demonsaw a shot. It's pretty cool how it works. Think of it as telegram but with no established or registered usernames and the users are only known by the content of their messages over time unless of course they use the same username each time they connect and are public about their handle or name. The server software acts as a router and is free as in beer allowing you to set up your own hub where only people the know how to connect can connect
-
@sam9669 I suppose I have been under a rock. What were the consequences?
-
@paradonym That's fine if you think that, but nevertheless, it's a solid alternative to Whatsapp and Telegram at the very least. It is a very good application. I suggest trying it out for yourselves and creating your own community hub with it. There's nothing to lose. It's a pretty solid app.

It's an encrypted communications platform that allows you to chat, message, and transfer files without the fear of data collection or surveillance.

@MagnumPanda here are a few things you might like that I have collected.

Krita seems to be a popular graphics editor that a lot of GIMP users are flocking over lately.
ZorinOS is a nice distro if you're an Ubuntu lover but want to customize your UI. It also works wonderfully on touchbooks. Ubuntu is my pick overall. I just like ZorinOS for it's GUI. It's an Ubuntu custom distro. Don't go all crazy trying to find that perfect distro though. Zoron and Elementary work well for me, but I am also more of a front end UI kind of guy so they make sense for my use case. Find what you like and like @mrtnrdl said, if something breaks, fix it. Don't scrap it and start over. Linux is resilient and can be fixed.
