Had a colleague who had a pre-existing heart condition. He had a cardiac incident while working, called an ambulance and continued working. When the paramedics said "you need to go to the hospital NOW", he said "wait, Lemme grab my laptop".
He passed a couple of days later.
I had mad respect for the man. Didn't deserve to go that way. -
They did open the file multiple times, it's just that when there are no changes, Ctrl+Z.
When there are changes, :wq -
console.log amirite? XD
-
I think they mean a user's stupidity

Air cooled build FTW. noctuah nh-d15 chromax with a good case like fractal meshify c or lian li lancool 2 mesh or 215. Max out the fans in the case and enjoy!

Check that number for India only. You'll be surprised.

@Owenvii sounds like my company.
I've told (rather practically screamed) on my entire floor in front of my director and the Line Manager that shit is screwed.
Line manager didn't bat an eye, fucker only knows how to browse Amazon and ask My manager "did we solve all the bugs/why not/when can we release"
Director is more bothered about making deliveries happen as well, doesn't want to afford any screw ups. Hence, there are 4 developers working with legacy code, 3 testers doing a completely manual validation of each of the functionality and our CI is... Well semi-decent to say the most. CD does not exist. -
Wait a minute.... So you're telling me that you have an insider build (which is supposed to be buggy, so that users can report actual genuine problems) and when it crashes (as expected) you blame MS? Dafuq?

Good coding/data handling then

Get a dog/cat
Play multiplayer games
Give it time, I guess? -
What the actual fuck?
-
@kiru15 "oh, I was kind of busy with <insert generic reason here> and then I kind of forgot because I was BUSY WITH MY PERSONAL SHIT AND FUCK YOU FOR CALLING ME ON A WEEKEND"
-
All they wanna do is cut down on attrition, mostly.
A month later you'll be ranting about his nothing has changed. -
I've stopped caring. So I don't bother even if I see.
-
Not enough.
-
"hi manager,
Imma work from home today
Regards,
The guy who hates fire drills" -
@xzvf that's what I'm planning. I'm yet to receive this year's hike letter. If it's bullshit, I'm calling the "four million dollars"
-
Update:
My director called me up asked if I'm to working on the same shite again today. I said after yesterday's ordeal and not sleeping the entire fucking night to monitor an unstable bloody build I am on leave today. He says "who else can do it?" Again, I said "let them do their own dirty work".
And the director says to me again "four million dollars. You know how many zeroes in that? I don't trust that department for this"
All I could say was "boss, I only see the 4. No zeroes in sight for me."
Ended up delegating the work to a teammate who's seen what I went through yesterday.
Four million dollars, and I don't give a fuck. -
GWT 🍿

@flightlessbird motorcycles, yes.
-
@Konsole I guess that would have made more sense for the topic XD
-
I try my best to write it the second way and then use autoformatter just to make sure.
-
Found sample code at uni??
Son, similar trash in prod for (at least) 3 years. -
Ugh the biggest turn off when I meet a girl is when she opens Instagram.
-
So do we. But that portal has been broken for like a few months now. (:
-
Same. XD
-
@M1sf3t some people are gonna hate me here, but I wear floaters without socks 😅
-
Wish I could do that without fourteen thousand seven hundred and fifty three escalations on my within an hour of the mail being sent on a Friday after 8PM.
-
This is a problem even in my work place. Everyone just takes devs for granted instead of doing something by themselves for once.
