He's just dead inside
-
No see you're using it wrong, it's supposed to stay shut
-
@zlice got me thinking, if you're interested some friends of mine are developping a plugin for libreoffice that adds latex formatting. You can have the same visual styles without the hassle of coding

A tester walks in a bar, and orders a beer.
Then orders -1 beers
Then orders "); drop table drinks; --" beers
Then orders 90123028390890890189082390 beers
Then orders a cat
Then tries to assault the bartender -
@devgrips Nice, keep us updated !
Always glad to help
If you decide to buy a new computer though: the MBPs and XPS are nice, thin and light
But for the same (costly) price and if you can bear the increased weight, get a T series, like T470 or T480, hell why not a P50 ! Build to withstand hell and easely upgradeable.
Check out Louis Rossman's video about the P50 -
"Just use arch bro"
But for real, happy you managed to buy your dream laptop. If using Mac os is what gives you the best productivity, then go rock that. You be you :) -
T420 - shitty screen but awesome keyboard, can be found on ebay or such for less than 100€
Throw an ssd and some ram on it and bam, awesome dev machine that handles most modern programming-related tasks
(been using my 2008 T420 for 2 years now) -
"I use Arch"
-
@Dummybugger Thing is, instead of simply giving the address, they provide a pinpoint on a HERE map using Leaflet...
-
Yep, switching to a ps4 pro as soon as I have the money.
Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, Kingdom Hearts, Shadow of the Colossus... -
Hold my GOTO
-
I still have a good'ol T420. Screen is shite, but with an ssd and 16gigs of ram it rocks and can handle anything I throw at it. Also, dropped it several times on the pavement, dropped a cup of water on the keyboard, and he's still happily chugging away (for an almost 10 years old laptop!!). All of this for less than 400 bucks, what else could you possibly want
-
CSS is one of these situations where you can only *add* new lines of code. Removing any is at the risk of some day, some where, breaking everything
-
@Bagul I have a black keyboard in one of my drawers. I type a lot during the day (coding, emails...) and didn't get accustomed to the strenght needed to type. After a few hours I always got cramps in the wrists. Anyway, pretty happy with my XD75 with gateron browns
-
I've been on blues for a long time, but recently switched to gateron browsn for the office and it's... okay. Next keyboard I want to try Mathias quiets though
-
"Facebook"
There's your problem ! -
@Condor Well said, I will always upvote Louis
-
Why not just buy a thinkpad tho
-
Tests, tests, tests

@Trablarer Dual booting is nice when one of the oses don't fuck it all up... I'm seriously considering switching to a ps4 for my gaming needs (really the only reason I start up my windows anymore)
-
SIR I AM NOT A KEYBOARD PERSON SO I WILL STOP TRYING NOW
-
@raldo94 I think it was installing the creators update
-
@stop Hey, thanks for the help ! Finally I burnt a recovery windows 10 usb and fixed it via console, then re-installed ubuntu
-
@dontbeevil well I never had any linux fuck up both my operating systems to the point where even grub wasn't displaying anymore
-
@Kimmax Well I didn't do anything per se, all the updates triggered on their own in windows 10. However I do have a long history of messing up windows and linux partitions on my drives (need to start from a clean slate one day...) so it's possible I messed something up. However prior to the update I didn't change anything, and voila! No more linux partition (replaced by empty space)
Weird thing is, my older debian partition that I don't use anymore was still there... only the ubuntu partition was affected -
@Kimmax Well, gparted showed my old ubuntu partition as empty space, so I'd say yes
-
«But what's the point of buying another keyboard? The membrane ones are nice enough!»
LET ME LIVE MY PASSION -
Well that's just a red flag to not go work for that company...
-
You need a better keyboard + wrist wrest
Mx black is a bit too much stiff for me, and blue is too noisy for open office work. My browns are coming soon though
