Here's mine
-
@iKameo The Netherlands but what you pay for income tax and pension all depends on how much you earn and in which scale you belong in
-
€2500 before taxes, after taxes €2080. That after a year of fully working as a dev.
-
@linuxxx never knew there was a meeting until today. I might come, not sure though since I have a busy day
-
My brother told me. I've told plenty of others
-
I've had them all.
Recruiters that tried and were useless.
Recruiters that didn't listen.
And a recruiter who actually got me the perfect job.
The horror stories could more or less be from other countries with other standards -
@taylorviktorya sleep for 10 then
-
@taylorviktorya Status report: Contract is being put together this week. I probably have a great first job at a company with a great team and a huge ambition.
-
Sense of accomplishment because you'll know your software will be used to make life easier on others.
Better wages. It's one of the very few jobs where you could start working in and live pretty luxurious when you'd compare it to jobs others with the same experiance and age -
@taylorviktorya Thanks! It would be pretty sweet getting work as a junior C# .NET dev after a pretty liw education where they didn't teach any C#.
All my knowledge of it has been self studie -
2nd company was waaaay better. Great team, small company, great amounts of knowledge and a pretty large ambition.
Best of all. The owner is a dev and rather leaves the deadlines to the devs so pretty big responsibilities.
Now I have to wait for a decision -
Let me sleep x.x It's 6 am
XD -
@qbasic16 ever politely asked them to move a bit further away? The smokers I know never had any issue with doing so. Generally speaking, the smokers over here are more social than most people and understand that not everybody enjoys it.
As a smoker I hate it when kids stand next to me ;) -
So sad to see that both is not an option given. I would never choose between them
-
You could try to use the rfid reader to control the lights in a room?
-
I used to go, will go again as soon as I have a job
-
@linuxxx having a decent memory does the trick. I rarely forget anything unless it's relevant xD
-
@linuxxx how did your exams go?
-
@solooo7 which is why incognito mode is is still used in this day
-
Truth be told. If you wish to develop an app just create something you yourself will use. It's what i'm doing at the moment
-
Welcome to devRant
-
Get the os el captain and look on youtube for tutorials. There are some settings which need to be set.
you'll need to give it 4 gb ram at least.
Cpu cores need to be set at at least 2 -
@Olverine It's an app which I created at my internship. The idea behind it is to connect a user's phone the his/her account on an intranet provided by the company where news/blog articles and contact information of other users exist
-
@Wildgoose I'd say apple markets its products for hipsters who don't know what they will use and don't care about the price to quality comparison.
I've never been a fan of apple products and never will be. Especially as a dev. The price for a dev account for apple products are simple insane, signing applications with xcode is a hassle and simply annoying and the application process of your applications in the app store take way to long. -
As @ShitOutOLuck already mentioned, muzli is a great spot, using google for inspiration you'll also stumble on top design.
Aside from that I'd also recommend you read up on best practices for UX (user experiance) design. Keep te mindset that a monkey should be able to figure out your design. -
I'd go for asus since linux systems allow for a lot of customization and it saves money.
-
Weekdays 2 am - 7 am and a 30 min nap on the bus,
Weekends 3/4 am - 12/1 pm usually -
Actually, there are robots that can sort of develop code together and improve on it.

The moment you want to code but have to write up documentation for your school exams instead.
Right @linuxxx
