What the fuck 🤔
-
What if you also have...
userID
userIP
userLevel
userXP
username or userName? :P -
At least you have a changelog of sorts... That already puts you ahead of the likes of Facebook, Tumblr and other contenders who do the "Bug fixes and performance improvements" routine with every update...
-
Not to mention that the offspring would most likely not run away even if this story was true. Baby animals tend to stick to their mothers, no matter what is happening to the mother...
-
Fact check:
https://snopes.com/fact-check/...
Result of fact check: false story, on all accounts.
93.7% of all viral stories that contain instances of animals exhibiting human behaviour are false.
Also don't believe all statistics that other people quote you on the Internet. Especially if they provide no source. -
Written text gives you a logged, verifiable form of communication that you can go back and check later if necessary. *shrug*

I am contemplating swapping the 'm' and 'n' keys on co-workers' keyboards. Or ',' and '.'. Maybe both.
-
@steaksauce Don't be absurd. What happens if he wakes up in the middle of the night because he dreamt about a bug/new feature/just wants to check something? They need to stay available, at all times.

Another sample of my whitespace madness:
-
@Root I find it easier to read the flow of (and quickly scan) code when the curly braces are on their own line, and don't find it excessive at all. Imo, Allman style indenting/braces is far more readable than K&R. Whitespace is no longer a limited commodity - I don't print code on paper.
However, "no space after 'if'" is the essence of my post; I've been doing it for close to 20 years, and I don't know where I picked it up from, but by now I cannot stop doing it because everything else looks broken :/ -
Hi, I am a professional game designer (and have dabbled as an indie game developer) *performs secret game dev handshake*
What's your game idea about? :) -
@M1sf3t So how many Android devices have you owned/used? Your story sounds like "I have owned iPhones my entire life, which proves that it is best."
-
THAT is what you question? O_o
-
Sublime Text *hides*
-
I'll bring my tower PC to my next interview. Laptop... heh.

UX people only get half the credit they deserve, and they only half deserve the credit they get!
Never trust UX people; it is in their best interest that the UX is constantly changing and being flipped on its head, for job security reasons. They do not have the user's best interest at heart 😑 -
@yatanvesh As soon as I am done! Just need to add some block chain here and reticulate some splines there...
-
@Freytag PHP 7.1 ^^;
-
Side note:
In many countries, "engineer" is a protected title, which requires a specific education to qualify for, and in some cases calling yourself an engineer can also bring increased legal liabilities. -
"Semantics. Get back to work, coder; there's code to be coded!"
-
@TheOct0 but ubi.com and store.ubi.com might. Not saying they do, but if cookies are stored with "uni.com" they might get passed to "store.ubi.com" as well, if I understand it correctly.
-
I'm a dinosaur, so I use www for historical reasons as much as anything else :P
Anyway, question for those of you more knowledgeable on these matters: What about cookies? Are cookies set on "example.com" passed passed down to any and all subdomains, like in the past? If so, I'd count that as another reason to use www specifically. *shrug* -
It's 2018. Why are you still using cheques?
-
@YeahOkay What's with the toxic attitude? Chill. Take some blue pills.
-
I won't claim to know about it in detail, but I think it can basically be summed up as "incompetent people overestimate their own abilities, while competent people underestimate theirs".
-
@8BitOverdose your story is a textbook example of the Dunning-Kruger effect at its finest!
-
How to set sensible password requirements for a service without annoying the fuck out of one's users? 🤔
-
Why would anyone turn down an opportunity to become a wizard? 🤔
-
I will do you one worse: I use jQuery Mobile... 🤪
-
This is cultural appropriation.
