FUCKING MOZILLA!
>Quantum

-Ughm, okay, but what is the trick?..
-THE TRICK IS THAT NONE OF YOUR FAVORITE ADDONS WILL WORK!!!

Seriously this is fucking insane! Several of my addons which were essential for me to stay sane is gone and I don't even know how to live without them. And all this bullshit is happening because these idiots in Mozilla decided to enforce use of WebExtensions. For ones who unaware, WebExtensions is much, much poorer framework and many cool addons simply unable to work under WebExtensions because of its limitations.

Are you the one who loved the speed and joy of using mouse gestures? GUESS WHAT — IT'S GONE.
Maybe you made your browsing activity super efficient with use of the “Tab Groups” addon that used to allow you to group your browser sessions? SAY BYE-BYE TO IT!
And many more!

Most importantly, I cannot understand why would a company enforce use of a framework that will decrease functionality of a product.
Anyway, it seems like Firefox is not a browser for addon enthusiasts like me anymore; got to find a new one, any recommendations?

That's the add-ons creators fault they had long enough to update their add-ons

    Absolutely not true.
As stated on any Firefox 57 ready gesture addon, it is not working because of the bugs Mozilla made.
Take this for example. Is says it clearly in the description https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/...

@Akyshnik Maybe it's time for you to move to Edge (provided you're on Windows 10). They have cookies and mouse gestures addon. Over the years I've found the only addon I need is an ad blocker. The rest are fluff.

You can re-enable them in about:config until they are updated.

Because cross browser compatibility is important, it's good to see the browser vendors working together so everyone can have a good experience regardless of their browser or device.

@irene that is the plan yes. It's designed to be an open API available to any browser developer. It will actually make it a lot easier for smaller browsers to gain some traction. The reason I'm stuck with chrome is because of extensions

@irene we'll disagree on that. Until webextentions, 3/4 if my must have extensions weren't on Firefox. I've never been a fan of Firefox extensions.

@irene fair enough. Opinions are valid, even if we disagree

Never thought of mouse gestures. What can you do with them?

    P.S.
After some research, I found out there is a "easystroke" package in my distro. It replaced all functionality Firefox FireGestures add-on used to have and much more. Check it out as it is the best alternative for now I've found so far.
