I've seen several posts now regarding Linux, Windows and how one of them is better.

Can we just stop?
Has nobody ever heard about dual-boot?
You can actually use both lol.

    Nice try, but it's impossible.
People like too much arguing about something.

    Linux vs Mac vs Windows
    Android vs iOS
    Google vs Apple vs Microsoft
    iPhone vs Samsung
    Spaces vs Tabs
    PC vs Consoles
    Firefox vs Chrome
    camelCase vs PascalCase
VIM vs VS Code vs Atom vs Sublime Text
    etc.

@JS96 I know.. I'm one of these people.

I have dual boot of Windows 10 and OpenSUSE... I prefer OpenSUSE as I never have to open force close task manager when trying to close an unresponsive program like visual studio.

Why dual boot when some people only use a single OS?
Might as well delete windows' partition and use Linux as the only OS

@Michelle because some of us are actual professionals that need to work on more than one environment and cannot be dependant on one os. Doing .net on Linux or Mac aint fun at all.

You guys did not read carefully, did you?
    Keyword: SOME people.

Allow me to repeat: SOME PEOPLE. I didn't say ALL people, I said SOME people.

@Michelle we did. Most os us use a single os as personal use, but work dictates something different, so even if we normally stick to one os as primary we still need to use other os.

@HelloUglyWorld arguing makes products better, if one was simply better than the other than one would just die out.

Back when I tried dualbooting I never booted up my linux install cause I knew it'd need windows for college. When I got home I was playing games so windows again.

Now that I don't need it for college or to game anymore I felt like just wiping my ssd and going full force Linux. Haven't looked back. (though I do have some cheats: wine and VM)

Dual booting sounds nice and all until you notice you are using 1 OS 95% of the time.

Why dual boot when you can run a VM? 😆

Ain't going to happen. You have some really lunatics here, that see it as a personal attack when you use another os or language.

Another factor are young devs who try to act "cool" and fit in by imitating popular members.

@rootshell Heh, yeah that easily happens. Had that problem with my old pc where I kept Windows 98 to play old games. "Just in case". Take a guess how often that happend.

Nowadays I just use Linux for work and Windows for uncomplicated home entertainment. Works quite well.

Shit is going on forever, it is a human trait to fixate on one thing and repel the other.

    atari vs amiga
    risc vs cisc
    nintendo vs sega
    C vs C++

I have a 1TB in my MacBook partitioned 3 ways

    OSX
    Linux Kali
    Win10

OSX for sound engineering - (Logic runs really nicely!)

Kali not much needs to be said here 😬

And Win10 for all those pesky steam games!

Edit: I just want to put it out there that I have no single preferred OS as each is strong in their own ways ...

@Jop- you are very limited on what games you can play on OS X!

@Michelle This. I do not use windows and I probably won't for the remainder of my life. But that's for different reasons than most people have.

    Same the other way around.

@AleCx04 I'm so happy I have to use Linux at work I've gotta say

@linuxxx i can only dream! I use it too (for our servers) but most of what I do is on the windows side including my workstation :(
