@NoMad
Did I say something wierd again? Usually when I haven't slept for a while, I'm either too honest, or I say weird things.
I haven't slept so that explains why I'm saying weird things haha. I shohld probably sleep before I say something dumb that I might regret :) -
I often hear you have to learn to drink it.
I went from the biggest Latte's (bc I couldn't stand the pure coffee taste) to the strongest espresso's because I learned to love it :) -
cursee171597yWhere do you live? Can I kidnap you and farm you for years? This is probably my only chance to be the richest man on Earth. To sell "Better than Coffee, Piss"

ZaLiTHkA8457y@Michelle [bash bash bash]
There are bandaids over there... [takes another sip of coffee]
Lol.. (:
However, there's nothing wrong with that.. Your reaction to coffee sounds almost like your body just doesn't like it though.
Still, a dev who doesn't drink coffee; that's a new one to me. -
Nothing wrong with not drinking coffee. Im 22 years old and people look at me strange when I say I dont drink alcohol. Not drinking coffee is really common.
I drank it out of necessity ( get free coffee or pay for something else ). So I learned to drink it after a while. -
@Codex404 And not drinking alcohol is completely fine as well!
I'm personally a very big (special) beer fan so I'm a regular drinker but if you don't drink alcohol for whatever reason, that's 👌 -
@linuxxx I know it is and unless excessive its fine to drink it as well.
But when people say "you have to learn drinking it" I always say, why do I have to? I dont drink, I dont miss anything, I will never drink to much and its good to have a designated driver/peace maker around.
With a bday of a friend I have to kick people out because Im the only sober one xD -
About 6 weeks ago I gave up coffee. I have sleeping disorder so I figured give up as much caffeine as I can (I'm not gonna give up coke, are you crazy?) and I'm never gonna go back. The taste is a challenge to get just right and if you don't it can taste awful. Just drink tea. The most amazing kind of drink there is (assuming there are no cokes around).

webdev22027yyou just get used to it, first time it was before a party when i was like 16yo we didn't have energy drinks so we made coffee with a friend of course we didn't know how to make it so we took a 3 decilitre glass and we poured half a glass coffee and half a glass boiling water
so thats for that, we were dumb, but we partied until next morning lol
but then i didnt really drunk coffee until i had my first job as a teacher (i was doing my masters degree at the time) and it was just cappucino, i drink lungo (big presso) just the last maybe year or so and i really like coffee, the taste of it, most of the time i dont really need it to wake me up or something -
bjoer751777yBeing a swede, I do drink a lot of coffee, and so does almost everyone I know and have ever met.
But, if I look back at the best developers I've met through the years, they have not been drinking coffee at all, but tea. And during the 90s, when we had the IT-boom, all major developer crews, small or large companies, would have like 15-20 variants of tea, usually very unusual kinds, and a bit of a ceremony around making tea. More of less the only social interaction you did back then as a developer.
And I, as much coffee as I drink, don't buy into this "it's an acquired taste..." thing. If you don't like it, don't force yourself to try to learn how to drink it. There are so many other things you can drink or eat. -
Sounds like you might be really sensitive to caffeine. Do you drink caffeinated teas?
-
@kericantspell
First of all, welcome to devRant! :)
Second of all, I drink green tea, not sure if that counts lol. -
-
Thank you for the welcome :^)
Yeah green tea has very little caffeine less than black teas. On top of that I think the caffeine in tea is absorbed slower than coffee.
So not that weird at all that coffee upsets you. It's probably just too much. -
devios157707yThe stomachache is a real problem. The answer is to eat something or drink something nicer to your stomach (milk, water) to calm it down. I think it's the acidity, and too much of it on an empty stomach feels pretty ugh.
I'd reckon the head part is your head not being very used to caffeine. I would cut down the amount you drink (or brew it weaker) and dose lower when you're a n00b. Pretty soon you'll be drinking 3 cups a day. ☕️☕️☕️ -
devios157707y@Paramite Cappuccino is delicious, but I’m not sure a non-coffee liker would like it. It’s basically very strong very milky coffee.
I simply hope no one bashes my head against the wall for this for this...
I don't like coffee!
There, the words spilled out of my mouth! I simply don't like coffee.
I remember the first time I drank coffee, I was trying to study for finals. A few moments after my lips departed from the cup, I got a really bad headache and stomachache. How do you coffee lovers handle that?
Needless to say, that was simply not a pleasant night for me. I despise coffee and coffee despises me.
