Stop the Java hate right meow 🐱🤚

It makes sense. Experienced Java devs are trained to produce a shit load of boilerplate and useless patterns which make simple code needlessly complicated. You wouldn’t want that shit in a project written in C/C++.

I bet their own "git hygiene" is far from meticulous.

I wonder what git hygiene means

@Lensflare hey I'm an experienced java dev. I just didn't. I'm too rebellious (also I left cuz it's still too annoying to write java, but it's an ok language)

just cuz s language offers features don't mean you gotta use them. especially these days cuz most features are in most popular languages

@jestdotty I’m not talking about language features. Using language features is fine of course. The problem is actually that Java lacks many good language features.

And Java devs are typically the types that I described. I was that type when I was a Java dev. A language makes you do things… that you normally wouldn’t do.

You might be an exception, I don’t know. But every rule has an exception.

It’s difficult not to gain accents when you’re constantly around them, and Java accents are the worst.

I have a noticeable Ruby accent, though I still have some of my C accent too.

@jestdotty You're supposed to wash your hands after doing a commit with four unrelated things and the comment "some stuff".
