I think the negative votes on the comments above speak for themselves.

Your misogynistic views are not welcome in today's field of programming. Please gather them up and head back to the dark ages.

    Thanks.

This is one of the only things I'm disappointed about in this community, misogynistic backlash to anything mentioning female devs. Blankly stating "x people are dull as F" is never appropriate, especially not when speaking of a whole gender.
Gentlemen please, we're better than this.

@bkrem thank you! I wanted to comment on it but didn't have the balls to post it.

As for the real post: Wish I knew more girls like that. Only know one, but she is awesome!

@ssharaf Can't tell if its misogyny or a distasteful joke

As a male software engineer whose married to a female software engineer I can agree. And she's damn good at her job too.

I would totally love it. :(

We certainly need more women in the field.

    cheers!

if I remember correctly the stackoverflow survey had a male to female ratio of 96:4 or something..

I would be afraid this would bring too much work home. I like the balance of an artistic type with the developer type. It's like having both sides of the brain come together.

I disagree. There's nothing better than having two girls that code

like my wife. we both code :-)

I want my daughter to have the opportunity to earn respect doing whatever she wants to be a professional at..... That includes becoming a Dev..... Any assholes that have a problem with that, whether it's just joking or not, take your small minds elsewhere.

Female dev here 🙋 First of all, thank you to many of the upstanding gentlemen who commented on this post, and of course the OP. Your POVs give me hope. To the more close-minded individuals, lol. I truly enjoy working with both male and female devs. Oddly enough I tend to judge them by their character, skills, and work ethic and not the hardware between their legs! Now excuse me, I have a few pieces of bread to go take a shit on and convince some dull asshole it's a Nutella sandwich.
