@MrJimmy Yes it's in most cases possible.
Look for "Louis Rossmann" on youtube, he fixes mostly Mac Books with liquid damage and a lot of other board level problems. 😉 -
Wozza638687y@PonySlaystation did you watch the close up video of coca cola on a board? Corroded connections within minutes! Makes me wonder how the hell I still drink that stuff!
-
menshawi1297y@MrJimmy Definitely, I was able to do it thankfully, not sure if that’s a good thing though, might have gotten myself into a lifetime of tech support
-
@Wozza365 Yeah, it's pretty impressive how fast it oxidizes copper and other metals!
But remember that this only works that fast because of electricity and the resulting ions.
Nevertheless, Coke is also really dangerous for teeth because it dissolves Calcium Carbonate (chalk) rather quickly.
When I was about 9 we had a visit of a dentist. He showed us an impressive demonstration:
We had to put an egg in a glass and fill the glass witz Coke. After 5 minutes the egg shell was pretty soft and almost fell apart... -
c3ypt1c96547yUnless you're Linus i don't think you'll be able to get that mobo to work because of liquid damage.

If it was beer, it would be kinda okay but unfortunate. But fucking sprite? Why would anyone drink that?
-
eeee31227yI'd say:
I'm a software developer although I have little experience with the subject, I'm pretty sure this is a hardware problem. So gently fuck off and let somebody else fix it.
