I don't know how much help it might be, but I've always been absolutely TERRIBLE at in-the-moment comebacks. At some point I started to, whenever I have time to sit down and think, imagine scenarios and plan out different comebacks to what people might say, and store them away for later. :P Might even help writing them down, since that can sometimes make it easier to remember.

Fuck these people... especially some of these fucktards think that physically handicapped people are also mentally challenged, which is absolutely not true at all.
They think showing pity is going to make handicapped people feel better. Seems more like the opposite.
Some time ago in school, we had a social week, so 3 mates and I decided to visit and interview a single-ski worldcup winner. Her stories about being in a wheelchair, every day tasks, the sport and interaction with people were very interesting and cleared up a lot of misconceptions about life in a wheelchair.
