TL;DR I want to watch videos faster.

Siraj Raval, a YouTuber who produces videos about artificial intelligence and the concepts behind it (not the buzz-shit-type 😜), once said in one of his videos that he learned to watch videos three times faster.
This man has truly changed my life in many ways.😯

I've started with watching videos with slight multipliers. Around half a year later I learned to watch videos with a multiplier between 1.75 and 2.5.
It's really incredible how much time one can save like this.

25min of free time? Let me just watch that 40min talk about event-driven programming real quick!

Don't do that with gameplays, series, anime and other types of videos 😏 you watch for entertainment because it kinda defies the concept of entertainment.

I can satch up to 1.75x, never practiced though.. if thr spraker is a slow one (probably to prolong the video) then I can do 2x, specially in coursera, udemy, etc

You could skip through the videos. That way you would save even more time and only stick with what interests you.

My plug in sets default speed to 2x

I mean, this isn't really that hard... With some content I can go up to 3.5. At 4 sound stops working, from what I've tried :P
I watch pretty much everything at 2x, but instead of decreasing the time I spend on youtube, it increases the number of videos I watch D:
I'll say that my girlfriend does complain when I watch things at "sonic speed" :P

In my university there is a special webplayer for lectures.
The genius that developed this webplayer designed it so that it has steps in 5% for picking playback speeds.
Depending on the prof. I watch between 130 and 215% speed
The guy that developed that platform still deserves a price for that feature

Dude I've been in the year 2050 for a while now, where have you been?

    @salembeats

Sometimes the material might be very similar to what you know already. So because of the bureaucracy, you are forced to take lectures, and other forms studies on subjects you already might know from back-to-back.

You probably don't want to quote me on this one. Your experience will differ.
I'm the kind of person that tries to find workarounds for the work I've already done. Paper-war instead of agreeing to uncomfortable situations, any day.

I haven't even started my 'third degree'-studies yet.

Hope this clears up the thought process some of us are going through. 😊
