If you're not from india, is it hard to find some there too?

In India I assume it's all about family connections. Did you ask all your relatives if they know somebody?

I did 4 internships and one freelance project last year, doesn't seem that hard to find internship if you are willing to go to startups

@py2js how was your experience working for startups?

@Deathcaster there will be steep learning curve and you will have to be very responsible for all the work. In summary you will never be treated as an intern there, you will be treated as full time employee and ofc workload will be high
