burswag9298y@soulkicks I guess I could, but I'm the only other one who's working on a project, and my boss might need me with something.
-
burswag9298y@pixeltherapy it looks pretty legit, actually. Some fairly big companies will be there, I think.
-
@burswag then it's a risk/reward calculation with a little bit of 'can you live with being a bit of a dick this once'?
-
@burswag I think you should go. take the risk. just make sure your company isn't represented there. that would suck. having an HR rep recognize you at the fair. maybe bring a fake mustache lol
-
burswag9298yUpdate: so there won't be any recruiting going on. It's actually more of a workshop for people wanting to get tech jobs.
-
burswag9298y@soulkicks oh I highly doubt that. We're less than 10 people in the company, and they might not even be aware of this event. There's no such thing as HR with us hehe.

fredrf15238yIf you want to change jobs, go 100% on the effort of changing jobs!
Don't expect to go half the way and the "job" the other half. Go above and behond.
This.. If you really want it. -
burswag9298y@fredrf oh yah! 🤘I was thinking this morning that I would severely regret it if I didn't go. Going. 👍
-
burswag9298yThe event was great. I learned what to do and what NOT to do when writing resumes and on interviews.
-
burswag9298y@pixeltherapy nope, no sarcasm. That's what the event was about: how to work on your resume, and what goes on in the recruiting process.
-
fredrf15238y@burswag fuck it. In fact you were absent...
But you learned stuff towards your next goal: find a better job.
For me, it's a price I would pay!

There's a tech job fair happening today, and I either have to leave work early or just not come to work at all to be able to go there. I really wanna get a new job, and I might regret it if I don't go there. Should I not come to work?
