I prefer nano over vim

    Praise you kind sir..
I only use nano in cases where I absolutely have to use a console text editor, and even then I hesitate to just open a (s)ftp terminal and edit it from VS code.

@Michaelology As you said sometimes you need a console editor and then I also prefer nano, because of simplicity.

@teganburns I guess the rant isn’t about saying that Vim is bad, but rather that it is unnecessarily hard if you just want to edit a file.

    I find nano frustrating

@Linux I mean hey, whatever works right? Personally I think it's better for beginners if the instructions to exit the editor are on screen though...
Just for the record, not saying vim is bad.

I'm an avid vi user, feels second nature to me. The other day I was helping a coworker with something and he had nano as his default editor for git. I felt like I was using vi for the first time. I typed :wq when I was done and he was probably thinking "why the hell am I asking this guy for help with this shit". Vi is a blessing and a curse.

I use a desktop editor maybe a tenth of a percent of the time I'm editing code, and even that is just gvim or macvim. The vast majority of the time I'm editing something, it's in vim on a remote server.
