Why we have to wear shoes? I'd like to be barefoot... especially in summer! Vote for barefoot action!

You'd have to step on shit on the ground. Sometimes literally

    Gravel and rocks.

And other sharp things you never find until you're barefoot.

Not to mention the sidewalk is usually steaming hot.

Fuckin East Hastings. That is by far the scariest place I've ever seen in Canada. Blocks and blocks straight of homeless and drugees, laying on the ground with garbage strewn about everywhere.

I would never live there, let alone consider going barefoot. Though the harbour is absolutely beautiful

@jschmold I actually really liked living in the DTES, it’s... takes a lot of getting used to lol but it was cheap, excellent access to transit (I can’t drive) and literally never boring

But then again I used to drink my morning coffee on my balcony overlooking people overdosing and had to listen to rooftop parties up to 2am on a Wednesday night regularly during the summer and I could go on....

I don't mind that as long as I can stay at home haha, I always walk barefoot in my garden

Well you don't have to wear shoes. I'm walking barefoot in public for over a year now. One month ago I even switched to a company which allows barefoot at work. I havent touched shoes since that.

And before that I was only wearing shoes at work, taking them of on my way to and from home. Donut definitely is possible :)

@pain nickname and comment totally checks out

Try out some Vibram FiveFingers - thin footwear with separate toes. I’m fond of mine, but you do get some stupid comments.

vivobarefoot or lems have minimalist shoes that don't stick out like the fivefingers (and if you have weird toes you can actually wear)

sockwa is ok, not as durable as others

your feet will prolly grow if you've worn shoes like you're "SUPPOSED TO" fellow heathen =)

edit: ^my vivobarefoot i've had no problems with shit going through. trails, city. you can FEEL more, but i'd bet they're less likely to get poked through than a typical shoe
